Liverpool are now favourites to sign him apparently.

What a circus this is.

I honestly feel Sancho will go to the club what meets Dortmund’s asking price and they might or might not be us.
According to bookies, United are still 1/2, with Pool 10/1...

Would rival De Ligt in fan meltdown, but yeah - name a source or go away

If City's ban is upheld we would need to shit the bed to miss out on CL.
wouldn't that ban possibly be delayed until 2021? I might be wrong about this, but I thought City might be able to legally force their way into the 20/21 CL since the decision about the ban will come pretty late. Either way, hopefully we won't have to rely on that decision to reach the CL. Three points behind Chelsea, it's doable.

Youre correct. Ruling is in August and the ban can't commence till it's delivered. A couple fortunate scenarios can play out in our favour that could still make them out for next season. Especially with the ruling being delivered in august and the CL calendar being shifted to a later timeframe because of the virus. That one is just personal speculation though.

No one really knows right now anyway. There'll certainly be less confusion and uncertainty if they just let the ban start in 21/22. Don't even know how uefa plans on having a CL next year with this pesky virus

Edit tldr there's still a chance

lads I think we're about ready to enter the preparing a bid stage
And there it is... the preparing a bid jokes begin.

Followed by ‘time to unzip lads?’ And one millions versions of fitting the word ‘on’ into the players name.

CAF satire at its best.

I am not sure if Liverpool will offer Sancho 220k plus wages. If VVD is just about to get that, offering Sancho that money will be an own goal surely?

Remember what happened to our squad when Sanchez got such a huge pay packet?
We got a load of journalists hypothesising over potential future negotiations?

This has always kind of annoyed me but it is literally in his name so I'm all for this one.

Sorry fellas, busy day. Just want some positive news on the transfer front
All good mate. From what I've read on here, there's a lot of positive news.

The only one that's not favourable is Bellingham but then one journalist says he wants the United move, another says Dortmund, either way you win some, you lose some.

I do think we'll go for Sancho though, we've tried last summer and it seems we're better prepared this summer, especially if we get CL football for next season.

Ruling is expected the first half of July.

True but Dortmund is an industrial town with little marketing. They don’t get the sponsorship income other teams do. Without their fans in the stadium that’s a big hole to fill for them. I’m sure they could hold out this summer if they really wanted to but it may come at the expense of strengthening their own team.

It looks like Gotze is being replaced by Gio Reyna in the squad and they have Brandt, Hazard, Reus and Haaland even if they do sell Sancho.

If they sold Sancho for anything over £80m that would fund a big chunk of their expenditure.

Regardless, the opportunity for us might not be in bringing the overall package down but in how it is structured. Dortmund may have demanded a large part of the fee up front whereas they should hopefully be a bit more flexible in that regard. Maybe we can negotiate something like an £80m fee split over 4 years with £20-30m in bonuses. Maguire was a straight £80m in cash which really hurts from a cash flow perspective.
Can't we just borrow the money to pay Dortmund up front? The banks know we good for the money

I was being sarcastic. They don't have money to sign Werner but they are leading the race to sign a player who costs double that. How stupid do these morons think fans are.

Andy Mittens latest article says United priority this Summer is a RW and Sancho is a long term target. He interviewed Solskjaer very recently.

Id take Sancho as our only Summer signing if Pogba stays. And then hope Bailly stays fit because he’s amazing when he is

JS7 will only be made at UTD. I truly believe its going to happen, it's just a question of how much were going to have our pants pulled down over the fee. A straight £90m+ isnt great but still doable. £70-80m with £20-30 in add ons Is what I think will end up happening.

€65m up front, another €45m spread over the next 2 years and a few bonuses built in

The dippers may want Sancho but so does every club with borderline competent scouts in Europe. The betting public suddenly shorten the odds on a move to the dippers and suddenly their favourites. Sad what this season does to people.

Maybe. Dortmund might not have the upper hand in their haggling due to covid and their finances. They might settle for a payment plan that suits us in the short term, that also suits them in the long term. Either way i think it will happen.

That’s what I’m thinking. We won’t be dropping €100m up front for anyone right now

We have 90 mill. in cash + the revolving credit from which we have already made ready 140 mill. We have enough already pay up front, but I guess they feel its abit untimely of Dortmund to demand so much up front in the current climate.

As others have said its probably just down to the structuring now.

Normally it actually can be advantagous to pay alot up front (reducing future liabilities etc.) ,but not nowadays I guess.

Agreed. We'll get Sancho if we can work out a fee with Dortmund. We have no control over the Bellingham transfer though.

Do you think we can get Sancho without CL to offer him?

I personally think we will miss out again on CL.
