I'm coming round to the idea this is happening. If it was not happening there would have been a clean cut brief. This quiet is ominous. It's being worked on behind the scenes. So things are still on a track.

I doubt we hear anything major in regard before next week, so enjoy the EL/CL games over the weekend and relax!

Yeah exactly, why wouldn't the club just shut it down if it wasn't being worked on.

Rightly or wrongly Ed is just doing his job i.e. trying to get the best financial outcome for United. He's not here to build teams, he's here to balance the books.

In a way he would be completely inept at his job if he didn't even try to slightly manufacture the deal so it suits us as well, considering it's a one horse race and when the buyer can plead poverty through Covid and knows that the selling club is financially impacted at the same time, that only strengthens the buyers position.

Dortmund are trying desperately not to be seen as a selling club, that what this boils down to.

Why? Were we ever in negotiations with AM over his transfer?
Negotiations with his side were never actually reported. I do remember his little brother who's a United fan apparently WUMing it up with fans on social media though

Even had his brother trolling us with that ad where he declined a call from Jose :lol:

The English press are absolutely shameless with the Liverpool arse licking

If they could afford the likes of Sancho they would, the same way they would've bought Werner and Thiago if they had the capability.

The fact that FSG always put a cap to their spending after achieving success isn't indicative of any sort of grand 3D chess strategy at all. Boston Red Sox fans can attest to that...
Absolutely ridiculous:lol:

Same. Trying not to get excited as the pain will be hard if it doesn't happen. The signing just makes to much sense. Just worried these games the clubs are playing result in us pulling out

I think Sancho should make it clear on BVB that he will leave on a free to United anyway after a couple of years, or next year on much lesser fee.

There might be things like that already said by him!

In the sense that things looked too good to be true and were going too smooth until the transfer ban when he changed his mind.

We never needed to be in negotiations because we were going to activate his release clause.

Why the hell would he say that? Makes no sense to jeopardize your relationship with the club cause two clubs can’t agree a fee. And even a 5th grader knows his fee will be lower next summer than this summer cause his contract is running down to less than 12 months. Don’t think anything needs to be said in that regard.

I read Dortmund news every day and the fact is that Zorc aint gonna take any add on at all, he wants 120M cash right now or back off and United cant/wont give more than 60M up front, so guys sorry, but very bad news for you.
This deal is not happening this summer, 90%...

One ridicilous post by a newbee and more than a dozen people jump on it. No wonder these muppet threads grow that quickly xD.

People really need to chill a bit. The player obviously wants to join United, credible sources already reported that personal terms are agreed. Dortmund is willing to sell under the right circumstances and have basically shouted their terms from the rooftops. United does not want to be dragged over the table and pay extra.

Clubs are negotiating and ironing out the terms right now which happens behind closed doors which results in the current calm. Both parties want to present a deal amicable to their fanbases. This deal will obviously contain add ons as pretty much any big money deal without release clauses does. It will also not have to be paid in full in one installment. Dortmund has agreed to such things in the past (both in buying and selling playing) and will do so again. The nature of these addons (easy to meet like number of appearances vs. loftier ones like Ballon Dor or CL wins)and the percentage of them regarding the whole deal will probably be the biggest points of contention. Woodward will probably want to not make Sancho the record breaking deal in the current climate (at least in terms of fixed sum), Zorc will want a headline making deal with a guarantued sum in the tripple digits to explain letting go of the current top performer.

The only slight possibility of this deal breaking down will be if Woodward seriously start dragging his feet because at one point Dortmund will break off negotiations because of a high risk of not securing a proper replacement signing and having time to integrate the player as it would put competiveness at risk. The chances of that happening are really slim, though.

The truth of the matter is United have not made any bid. It doesn't mean United will not make a bid. The media decided to jump the gun and they have been made to look like fools. When news is being reported as fact by The Sun, Daily Express, Daily Mail and Twitterati, you know there is a problem because these newspapers do not report facts. It's their modus operandi. Sancho will sign for United but the timescale and terms of the deal will be way off what has been reported by the fake news mob.

Letting them know he definitely won't be renewing is hardly jeopardizing his relationship with the club.

He's would just be being professional and giving them plenty of notice.

How do I waste 5 minutes of my life and read the article mate? It has a pay wall.
Go to the transfer thread and click on the Threadmark - It has a tip to get past that... fecking brilliant, I have used it with success at several sites with a paywall.
