But if we are being serious. They are potentially buying England’s new number 1. I’m pretty sure they will be signing him expecting to get their money back if he ever goes back to a Top 4 club, whilst keeping them in the league season on season whilst he’s there.
If you’re comparing yet again to Vitek, add a bit of context. Trafford has PL experience and is widely expected to take over from Pickford as England number 1. Context is key otherwise you’re going to tie yourself in knots thinking that we’re hard done by

Trafford played most games in a successful cup campaign last year and has way more top level experience. He’s also English.
Further to the previous comments, do you trust any figure that City put out? One of the many issues of state ownership is that they’re so multi-armed, then could funnel £10m into Leeds to sex the fee up and help them with PSR.
Have they definitely done this? Don’t know. But they could, and that’s the problem. I don’t trust any of their incoming fees as legit.

He's got Premier League experience and cost City more than 30 million twelve months ago. He then played 17 games for City last season, including two cup finals. Oh, and he's also a full England international. It's really not that hard to work out.
Initially I was annoyed we didn't get a figure for Vitek closer to Rushworth. However Coventry did get promoted and were buying from established PL team. This guy is a completely different league so certainly wouldn't compare either deal to him.
