Jayden Ngwashi

Can the folks who regularly watch the youth play give us an idea of his playing style?

Higginbotham, Wilson, McShane, Cathcart, and Spector all had lengthy Premier League careers as well.

Teden Mengi out the oven just last week too. Had an impressive PL season and is a good centre-half.

He looks so good, everything about his game is of a high level, looks to be very good at defending 1v1, gets his body shape right and good footwork to adjust to the attackers something the rest of our CB prospects fall short on.

Early days but now we can see why the youth coaches rate him so highly and why he was pushed into the u21s. Potential to be the best CB we have produced in a long time.

It was the 1st game I watched him in U18, and he was pretty good both technical and physical.
I agree that he looks class and even just only 1 game but many can feel the same that he could be the highest rank center back from academy.

When was the last time United produced a quality central defender ? And I am now thinking of a player that played regularly as a central defender (not like Brown, O'Shea and Gary Neville) who played 80-90% of their matches as fullbacks - and I also don't consider Pique as he was picked up from Spain and went back to Spain after 3-4 years.

I am trying hard to think here - but I can't think of a single one after the Busby-era

Brian Greenhoff, Wes Brown and Jonny Evans are the only ones that come to mind.

I like him a lot from what I've seen of him.

Kukonki may have an athletic edge on him, but he is a more quality defender. Clever and calm

Kukonki seems a bit on the slower side to me sometimes.

He looks a operates like a seasoned pro, playing the mens game. Very impressive.

Seems to take up very good positions and has good timing in his defensive actions. Quite good ball-player too. Granted, this was a game United won 13-1, so I'm sure the Leeds lads weren't the most challenging attackers he'll come up against..
