Jess Simpson is 18, a really promising young defender. She signed as a pro straight from the United Academy this year and joined Bristol City on loan at the start of the season.

Unfortunately she's picked up an ACL injury and has now come home to United for treatment and recovery.

 
Based on the cameo, she strikes the ball well and has a good selection of crosses in her arsenal.

Would like to see more of her but I’m afraid she’s behind George and Sandberg in the pecking order.

She’ll be 20 soon so in all likelihood she’ll go on loan in January and leave us permanently next summer.
 
2nd half sub was very good. Put in better crosses than Sandberg and hit the bar direct from an inswinging corner

Great news for England as well as they too are crying out for a left footed fullback who can use the ball
 
Horrible news, but naturally I’m happy with Simpson getting called up to the England U23s.

The circle continues! She was on loan to Bristol when she damaged her ACL. Now, she returns there with her recovery complete and after making her debut for United. Good luck to her.

Whether we'll see her back at United or she'll make a permanent move in the summer I don't know.
 
Good to hear. I like the fact that we are quietly getting things done. Chelsea, Arsenal and City can sign some big names - I'd rather be us.
 
According to Fotmob shes been Southampton's 2nd best player after Bashford and has 1 goal 3 assists in 6 matches. Will be a good rotation option with Sandberg I hope.
 
Just scored a freekick for England under 23s vs Usa. It was a cross into a dangerous area that went all the way into the goal. Her delivery is very good
