Standard Lingard game today. Looks like he had a good game according to the stats, but in reality he pottered around and contributed very little as per. The fact the likes of Gomes look more productive says it all about him. No doubt he will soon sign a new five year deal though .

First 20 minutes he seemed non existent and seemed like Martial was outworking him but it could have just been Lingards world class movement I keep hearing about that made him seem invisible.

Most annoying was he had 2 or 3 opportunities to put Martial through and he delayed and delayed and delayed till the chance was gone when they were simple passes. martial had done the work for him, just needed to slip the ball through.

Anyway eventually he started to get his foot in and made a few good recoveries but his passing and decisions are just shocking.there was that one moment we had a really nice pattern of play then he casually or lazily played it in behind the player on the wing. He does this so often that I’m convinced he thinks he is better than he is so doesn’t need to concentrate on what he is doing sometimes and just casually plays a poor pass.

I thought he was ok, got about the place getting his foot in a whole lot today and disrupting Perth. Actually thought he was very agressive at times, more than usual. Though didn't really do a whole lot on the ball of note.

Concerning thing for him should be how quickly Gomes seems to be taking to first team football, he could quickly find himself slipping down the pecking order. Of all the academy lads we've got around the first team, and there are a lot of them too, he's looking the weak link.

I think some are too harsh. He is just 17. This man child will be the next superstar.

Utter fecking cack!

Depressing that we’ll be seeing this shit-gremlin for at least another year. Depressing.

The quality in gaps between Lingard and Gomes is fecking obvious huge, Gomes hasn't played much of first-team football, and he's 18.

Waste of space. What a terrible play. His lack of talent is so obvious when he plays alongside talented kids.

Wow some really harsh comments here.
He was poor yes but come on.
There are players coming through who will take his place that much is for sure.

It’s starting to look like this isn’t a downturn in form, as much as he just wasn’t very good to start with. He has had a handful of decent games and has flattered to deceive. He doesn’t deserve the personal abuse he gets, but I’m thinking his time as a United player should be drawing to a close unless he ups his game massively between now and christmas.

He has been shit, so many time he underhit the pass, or overhits it under no pressure. So many runs made by the players just wasted by his careless passing. His passing technique is quite shit.

As his is dribbling, his lungs and his shot are the only things he's got going for him, and to be fair his press game isn't all that and his shooting's gone down the pan recently as well.

Yup, seems to think his place is safe so his performances have been tanking.

Some decent runs, no final product but a string of misplaced (easy) passes, lost possesions, bad decision making within the play and whatnot.

Shouldn't be anyhere near United squad, but since he's here let him have a place on the bench, nothing more.

He just was putting a shift in and looking something like an attacking threat at a time where the team had almost forgotten which direction the oposing goal was. It absolutely flattered to deceive him, you're correct. Bang average player.

No he doesn't but he's pretty annoying though. Self labelled 'joker' of the group JLingz. Seriously.

Terrible, maybe last season when people were taking the piss about him only passing to Rashford was true because Martial must be John Cena in Lingards eyes. “you cant see me”

He’s better at the instagram than he is at football. And I hate his clowning in social media.

If he was a liverpool player, he would have been sold to Bournemouth for £45m by now

Anyone else seen this? Seems Ole isn't as soft on the players as some fans believe he should be.

Personal life doesn't mean you can disgrace the club that employs you, hopefully Lingard truly is on tight ropes and the likes of Gomes and Greenwood get their deserved spots in front of him.

Well said, and to think people were making excuses for him.

Looked like he also bollocked Rojo for those ridiculous keepy-ups.

Contrary to what others belive, I think if Lingard doesn't up his performances he'll be gone by next season.
