How can wages be an issue when they are already paying his wages now on loan?

Same way that a normal person may be happy paying £100pcm for a 6 month phone contract, but can't afford to do it for a 4 year one.

I don’t think £100k is outrageous.

im sure compromises will be made so he can get the move. This will just be posturing.

he’s done so well, I don’t imagine he wants to go back to United.

confident a deal will be done.

True, not sure I see it being a significant stumbling block personally.

Despite their fortuitous league performance, they aren't exactly a club ran by people who you'd peg as good, honest accountants. It is quite likely that they still have long term commitments from some of the other crazy deals they've done over the past few years.

A lot of smaller clubs are going to be tighter on finances due to the on-going and pre-existing impact of the last year or so, too. Not like they have much in terms of off-field assets to refinance against, either.

+ transfer fees.
Yeah I guess so.

Say £30m in transfer fees, plus £100k/wk over 3 years minimum (£5.2m x 3 = £15.6m), plus all the loyalty bonuses and what not - that's £45m added to the books.

Assuming all they have to live off is non-matchday income, that's quite a lot. If they get CL then maybe that'll open up some doors, but then could they afford any more players after that?

He will be like a new signing if he comes back.
Jesse, Cavani for another year, Bailly new contract and then get Pogba to stay.

No need for any signings!

The way other teams set up against WHU is different than they set up against us. Most lower teams are cautious against us, they sit tight, and that's where lies Lingard's limitation of unlocking ability in final third. WH like team is perfect for him. If he plays with us again, it would be the same old story.

Amazed me the other day when I saw he's on 9 PL goals and Rashford's on 10.

Always thought he had talent. but wouldn't want him back.
