Shame we couldn’t tempt him

Villa getting all that money for him and Gyokeres release clause around similar figure is worrying

We never have luck with the Saudi's crazy offer. Why are they not interested in Rashford?
Rashford will give them a lot of media attention they crave.

Come on, give us 100m for Rashford and offer him 150m per year contract. It will be done. Rashford will move with this kind of money. Win win for all parties.

Yeah thought we might finally get something out of them for Casemiro but no cigar

No Casinos in Saudi so

There was some news that Rashford didnt want to go to Saudi. The issues is that Rashford sees himself as a starter for a top European club. Until that bubble has burst, dont think he will be open to a Saudi move.

This is it. There is high level of delusion in Rashford's camp, they all think he is something that he isn't.

For a player to think that he does not need to work hard in training, he must think very highly of himself. This is what happens when you are propelled from young and not been humbled on the pitch. He has always got his way, getting managers sacked, leaking stories, not getting punished.

He doesn't want to go Saudi because he wants to live the drinking, partying all night life. He is very poorly advised imo.

This is like when Oscar went to China for the ££££

probably closer to Asamoah Gyan. he's not as established as Oscar was after 5 seasons at Chelsea, he doesn't even play for Villa most of the time. actually, I bet most people who support Serie A or BL team and don't watch the EPL regularly don't even know who Jhon is.

I have nothing to back this up with, its an educated guess, but i have a feeling that the younger prime players going to Saudi are being advised by their agents to treat them as essentially a win-win loan deal.

In an age where striking talent is becoming harder to come by the chances that he is still there by the end of his contract will be nil.

I think its an opportunity for players at non prestige clubs who think they can be at a top team to essentially take a gap year on huge huge money knowing so long as they dont stink it up european clubs will be back in for them in a year and i dont think the saudi clubs would put up a massive fight to keep them as it would harm the pipeline.

I can see Ivan Tony back in the premier league in the summer for example, he just couldnt swing the move he wanted, so he took a paid holiday.
That’s all well and good until you see the transfer fees. They are paying 77m for him. Would a PL club pay 50+ for him?
Toney was bought for 50m, he’s scored 4 goals in 12 appearances (last time I checked). Again would you pay 35m for him at 30/31 years old. I wouldn’t

Couple of parts to this, regarding the players themselves the answer would be probably bordering on definitely for Duran considering his age profile and stats, think he has 7 in 20 in the league and 3 in 7 in the champions league for someone who doesn't always start. Its something like 1.01 goals per 90 which is 99th percentile if you think his form this season isn't just a purple patch hes a top player.

Ivan tony is 28 (29 in march) arsenal have just offered 60 for watkins who is 29. I would absolutely have Tony at united provided the deal was right.

Secondly, the finance itself, the Saudi model isnt based on profit and sustainability as im sure you are aware, they are more than happy to spend 50m here 70m there for high profile footballers because the goal for them is having the picture and the impression of a viable league for sportswashing purposes and diversifying their economy.

I dont think for a moment they would would care about selling a player midway through their contract and not getting their money back, for Saudi the missions already been accomplished. People arent watching the games, they are buying the players for the profile. They dont want to hurt the pipeline they have created by kicking up a fuss and holding players there who dont want to be there, the whole point and allure of going there is you can go for a year or 2 make more money than you would in your career and then if you want to, they will get someone else for another photo op.

If they paid 50m for Tony a year ago they wont be expecting their money back, same for Duran.

I would fight back on the wording of the ‘miserable’ £50k a week, but if ‘footballer’ is a job he’s getting more than 6x his current wage.

Nobody would turn that down.

He does this for 2-3 years, he still has plenty of time to move back to a top league for his prime years. Probably without too much physical fatigue accumulated too, given he will be playing in a lower intensity league.

Goal.com labeled GBP 320,00 as "ridiculous". Jack Grealish is on GBP 300k for producing sweet FA.
