DOB: 06/10/2010
Position: AM/FOR
Nationality: England (eligible for Ireland too)

Thought about whether to create a thread for such a young player but I think it’s fair as he’s reportedly making his U18s debut later today. I feel It’s reasonable as we can judge him based on a game shown on MUTV.

A big talent who’s been linked with a move away this season and attends Barca, Liverpool and Man City games (United too to be fair) regularly. JJ’s represented England at U15s level.

His father had a nice career at lower levels.

His father is Irish?

Where is the mother from?

Yeah keep hearing how he could be a particularly special talent

Why leave though? United offer about as clear a pathway to the first team as you’ll get anywhere

Enough activity in here and we may be blessed with his dad’s presence ala Mr. Shoretire.
Who we'll hope we can convince to make the kid stay while the mods quickly delete all the threads of Caf members weirdly condemning kid's performances harshly!

Heard of him and folks say he's truly generational (who really knows from that age, but it would be a shame if such a rated player leaves - imagine Barca losing Yamal or Messi at 14)

Put him in the Irish team next international week.

Well great, now I'm depressed about losing a player I only discovered existed 2 minutes ago.

There’s been a lot of talk of him leaving, but with the talent he has, I imagine that will be the case throughout his career or at least his development. I doubt anything is set in stone though, United will unlikely be taking this step if there was not still some negotiating/convincing to be achieved.

The speculation started when he removed everything connected to United on his Instagram coupled with a cryptic message from his agent. But just noticed that the pictures/@ManUtd is back now (whatever that means…).

Why does a 14 year old have Instagram?

So they can get brands to pay him, he hasa big deal with Nike from what I read. I agree with you though I don't like it.

Do we not get some money if a youth product moves to another UK/EU team? Maybe playing him increases that amount, besides we're able to demonstrate what a talent he was to be the youngest U14 to play for our U18.

Because his dad created it.

From the little I've read on JJ, I get Ronaldo & Mummy vibes from this, reckon he'll be dreaming of Barca/Real every contract renewal. That's if he lasts for his first professional contract here.

It's a worthwhile trade off if he's as good as they think he is.

Did he get any minutes today?

Didn't look out of place, still a bit lightweight expectedly but technical ability is obvious.

Technically very good, good mentality in possession. Don't want to be too harsh on a 14-year old but there was a lot of standing still, walking and jogging out of possession while the more senior players did the pressing and tracking down for him. But these are good lessons for the youngster.

Hes 14 of course he looks slow and weak compared to them

Yeah I understand the physical side of it, it was more an observation about his off the ball movement when we were out of possession. Anyway delighted for him for the debut and the late brace. Hope he keeps on developing.

Maybe we’re pushing him on a bit into the u18s to try to show we’re serious about developing him and encouraging him to stay. Must be a great feeling for him today scoring 2 at that level. Hopefully it helps sway his decision.
I think there’s a bit of that.

We took him to the FA Youth Cup match v Villa even though not in squad.
