JJ Gabriel

Strange thing to post in his thread on a United forum.

we all know there's no certainty he stays this good vs men, but surely you can understand why people are excited to have a potential top tier talent.

I hope he does well and gets his chance.
Not strange at all. Poster is right WOULD be great- for him, club, mentors. I do think they’ll try to manage this

Well if you think 'Everyone should shut the feck up about him for 12 months' why are you posting in here?
He's a potential world class talent and people are excited about him.

I'm a little more reserved as we've all seen these situations before, but i wouldn't shut down discussion on the forum about it.

I think you know what is meant. Calm a bit

It is not normal for a 15 year old to consistently be the best player on the pitch at U18 level. In most cases where an academy player is elevated to an older age group, it is because of their physical strengths. However, in JJ Gabriel's case, he is grabbing games by the scruff of the neck with his outstanding technical ability. It feels like every week I am seeing clips of him scoring another worldy!

I am so excited to see him in the first team next season. It would be quite the feat if he becomes the youngest ever United player to make a first time appearance. Hopefully it can be accomplished in the Carabou Cup 3rd round, or perhaps even in one of the early Premier League games if we're winning comfortably.
He’s only turned 15. He won’t be playing much if any guest team minutes next season. Back off. Let the lad develop.

Nope, you make no sense.

Anyway, the lad deserves his shot at a squad place next season.
Seems Angel Gomes is our youngest PL debutant currently (16/263), so i don't see why he can't do it.

Let’s not make wild predictions just yet. He turned 15 only 5 months ago
Not meant as a prediction, just that Angel Gomes made his debut not that long ago at not much older.

I like the lad as a player, he also seems like a nice kid.
I wish him all the best and hope he excels when he gets his chance.

Would have been old enough to make his debut. JJ doesn’t yet meet that requirement

He deserves a shot in the U21s next season and see how he gets on, that's it at this stage, he's a baby still. If he's crushing the U21s then sure a first team sub appearance or two might be warranted but you deserve it when you've proved you deserve it. Pogba didn't really understand that for example, I think this lad probably will, seems a grafter to me.

TBH with these sorts of talents they usually go straight from U18’s to first team squad. Not much point him playing U21’s. Greenwood only played a very small handful of 21’s before taking a first team spot

Isn’t that pretty much what TwoSheds said? Give him a chance in the U21s and if he crushes it there then give him some first team opportunities. Greenwood playing a handful of games in the u21s then moving up because he proved himself there is more closely aligned with that scenario than skipping the U21s and moving straight from u18 to first team.

Hope he can yes, he’s a scary level of talent

He must have really liked you...he refused to sign my old Newton Heath Railway Bill.

God he was surly! ;)
Hopefully not as surly as our first captain, Jack Powell, who after The Heathens’ first official game ended in a 2-2 draw, in the FA Cup vs Fleetwood Mac (or Rangers) in 1886/87, refused to play extra time and thus forfeited the match. He set such a scroungy mood that Newton Heath boycotted the FA Cup until 1889!

And some question Bruno’s captaincy due to mood swings …

His dad has expressed that they are very happy at the club recently, particularly since Carrick came in. He’s praised Carrick for going to all of the matches and defended Carrick’s tactics from criticism recently, saying it was on the players. Previously, he had taken some not so subtle digs at Amorim (deservedly so). As it stands, he isn’t going anywhere. But things change fast in football.

Appreciate this post [and those like it]. Thank you.

Giuseppe Rossi is the best player I’ve seen in the unders this century. Ahead of Morrison, Greenwood and so forth; if it wasn’t for injuries at Villarreal, he was legit on to do big things at a big club.

I’m wondering if Gabriel is going to continue and top trump all of them and even rival Giggs.

Agree with the former. I never saw Rossi at 15 though. Are they [he and Gabriel][ comparable?

He's a lot younger than Greenwood though, and will have GCSE's and growing up etc to contend with next season too as well as a change of rhythm. I wouldn't be begging to see him in the first team unless he's absolutely crushing the U21's like he is the U18s now.

A full season to grow and then targeting the league cup games in Autumn 2027 sounds more realistic.

Nothing wrong with a player starting at 16 if they're ready, there's been plenty of them. The club will know based off first team training.

Personally I'd be shocked if he doesn't get minutes next season. The way he handles physical challenges I just don't think he'd have any issues at all.

The rule for playing in the PL is that he would have needed to have turned 15 before August last year but he didn’t turn 15 until October. So this season was never going to happen.

Next season could happen in theory but will depend on his development and who our new coach is

Guys he turned 15 in October. Premature talk.
I've always said if you're young enough, you're old enough. I want him in the first team squad the day he is eligible. Smash this silly little record Arsenal have just got for youngest goal scorer.
