I think we are still hoping for an offer from Saudi for Onana, the links have been there although they are fairly quiet right now. We need Onana for the next few weeks at least so even if we do want rid it is understandable that the club would not be talking about it. Thankfully as you say, even if we don't find a buyer this summer I think we only need to get around 5M for Bayindir to make it work for PSR purposes and then maybe we can loan Onana out until his amoritization meets his value.

PSR might not even be a thing in a year. Should be moving to a model other countries and UEFA use. As per usual the PL think they can do it differently.
Doubt we could get a fee of more than £10m for Onana this summer. Best to shove him out on loan and hope that his clangers for that club go under the radar.
Bayindir should go as well. He should be no 1 somewhere a his age, but clearly is not good enough for the PL.

I think that is broadly due to the fact that we still owe around 30M on the Onana deal and we would be lucky to find a buyer at any price right now as he has become a laughing stock. We are going to get another back up as Altay seems certain to go and hopefully whoever it is can mount more of a challenge or Onana can hit a hot streak of form next season and recover enough value for us to ship him out and get a long term solution.
Simon Stone linked us to Lammens from Antwerp in a recent BBC transfer Q&A. He framed it as us replacing Bayindir with someone more capable who could properly challenge Onana for the spot.

Crazy given Garcia and Lammens are reported at the same fees due to Garcia's release clause. Fair enough if Garcia prefers Newcastle right now, but to spend anything more than the 5m I assume we'll get back for Bayindir on a back-up goalkeeper seems bizarre.

I I think Martinez is on the decline, and knows it. He’s seemingly not been up to his usual standard this year.

Take your eye off Arteta for a second and he will have bought 2 GK and 4 defenders. Would be a tough sell to make him sign as a #2 or even competition for Raya. We're a good 2 to 3 seasons before thinking about replacing him if he keeps performing like that.

Who's taking Onana on loan? We'd have to subsidise more than 25% of his wages for other clubs to consider it. There isn't exactly a dearth of talented keepers around either, so I don't think anyone is going to be keen on a meme keeper on high wages.

I actually think there is a dearth of good GKs out there, think of all the GKs a decade ago and compare to them now. Most of the really good ones are older like in their 30's and most of the ones in their mid to early 20's don't compare to those 10 years ago
We have to pray there's an Italian club who still think he's decent from his spell at Inter and haven't been paying attention to the disaster he's been for us.
