This. He's a better player than the likes of Alvarez. He needs to go to a good attacking team and he will shine.I'm a bit surprised many don't rate him. He looks like the type that could go to Man City and he absolutely wouldn't look out of place due to his talent. Working under that quality of manager would also probably refine some of his choices and he'd take on a new level of tactical awareness and pressing like many players seem to there. But the point is you need the talent to begin with as you can't just create that as a manager.
He hasn't had it that easy, playing under one of the more negative managers to grace a strong football club in Simeone, then goes to an abject Chelsea side with a League 1 manager. Not to totally excuse him, he could and should have done better in Spain.
Talk about jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire - feels extremely harsh to judge him given how dysfunctional Chelsea are.Forget everything else, his problem is that he's not productive
I thought getting out of Atletico might help in that regard but it highlighted the fact he was the problem all along instead
You can. Not sure Portugueses football is the gotcha you thought it was. Can't even compare the two:
Before Lampard the reason for your disfunction was the inability to convert chances. And he was one of the culpritsTalk about jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire - feels extremely harsh to judge him given how dysfunctional Chelsea are.
Also worth noting that he's our top scorer since he joined - obviously this is an extremely low bar, but given how atrocious we are it'd be harsh to call him a flop.
I mean, I'm just being a bit cheeky since you said "no team will ever be a good attacking side with Felix in the XI". Anyone who watched both Felix and Darwin in Portugal on a regular basis would never in a million years put them at the same level - Felix was miles better at a younger age. The Benfica team when Felix joined was astonishingly good to watch - and they were completely revitalised by Felix joining from the youth team partway through the season. I've consistently called Darwin a flop even before Liverpool signed him - comparing the two is honestly crazy. You can. Not sure Portugueses football is the gotcha you thought it was.
More relevant example is Atleicos attack going up 20 notches after loaning Félix to you lot.
It’s confusing talking about Chelsea anyway. In one hand we are told your attacking play is fine, you just can’t finish then you’re making excuses as to why Félix has flopped up front.
I say you but it’s a smaller fraction of your fanbase I do admit.
Before Lampard the reason for your disfunction was the inability to convert chances. And he was one of the culprits
He’s all aesthetics, that’s why. People can talk about managers and systems all they like but this is a forward who has only scored double digits in a domestic season once in his career — his breakout season in Portugal.Feels like he does a lot without doing anything at times.
He needed out of Atletico bad. It isn't his fault United were too broke to loan him and Arsenal thought it too expensive so its wrong to pretend he picked Chelsea out of bad choice than pure necessity. And Atletico as a move made sense given Someone's record with strikers. One thing he does really need to do is pick his next team better. I know Utd and Arsenal didn't want to pay the fee Atletico wanted, but he seemed all too happy to jump into the cluster feck that was Chelsea, with noises about signing for them permanently. His move to Atletico wasn't much better either considering the football they play.
I think it's because he tends to turn up against us and therefore people assume he's quality when actually he's generally pretty shit with end product issues. Given we already lack end product it seems odd people want a player that clearly has struggled for years with it.Can't for the life of me figure out why some people seem so convinced he'd be a good addition, particularly as he comes with a massive price tag and doesn't really offer anything we're currently lacking.
I think he would suit playing with Rashford and Garnacho, and I could see Fernandes being just about compatible despite operating in, or from, the kind of spaces Felix would like to utilise. I don't see him complementing Antony or Sancho.Think he's excellent personally, and would suit a ten Hag system perfectly.
Not sure I agree we cant. If we cant get Kane, there will not be that mang great options. Players like Oshimen and Muani will be in high demand from clubs like Bayern, PSG and Real Madrid.I like Felix and wanted him here over Wout as it would have been perfect time to guage his performance in Ten's system. Alas he chose Chelsea and now it's too late as we can't afford the experiment next season.
