INEOS give this guy a contractWas basically campaigning for him in full muppet mode in his transfer thread, but once PSG were involved, it was game over.

There's always gonna be people like that.I remember people here using the same narrative that he is too young, plays in the Portuguese league, etc
No risk, no reward.
8 goals and 13 assists and one of our key players

Cost the same as likes of Mount, Casemiro and Ugarte, we really know how to pick our midfieldersNot really surprised he's done well at PSG tbh
I watched a good few of his games when he was at Benfica the season before.
He really impressed me,(I mentioned on here at the time) not just the quality but his tenacity and high work rate and movement off the ball.
The talent was obvious.
As usual on here last summer there were a few naysayers, some even writing essays on why we shouldn't go in for him
He's still very young. It'll be very interesting to see if he can develop and take his game onto a higher level in the next couple of years...
@huynJoão Neves just scored 2 goals on 2 bicycle kicks in the first 15 minutes of the match against Toulouse and Barcola added another on an amazing assist from Ruiz.
Getting us to subsidise his signing by paying stupid money for Ugarte has to be the best piece of transfer business of the decade by any team.
How? Who contests directly with state clubs? As sure of a thing as there could have been with regard to the likelihood of him achieving his potential as he was already playing at such a high level in benfica.
Bizarre how psg has such a straightforward go at him.
We have...How? Who contests directly with state clubs?
Go on..We have...
Aren't the days of psg handing out obscene contracts over? A Google search result yielded that he's on 150k euros a week, a reasonable number all things considered which would many many a prestigious club could have gave psg a contest in their endeavor to sign him. How? Who contests directly with state clubs?
They paid for him upfront all in one and added a Renato Sanches cover loan on top as a sweetener. The way they pay is practically impossible for normal clubs to compete with.Aren't the days of psg handing out obscene contracts over? We gave Sancho double that for example (cl qualification included but still)
Our fanbase is the same way. Branded this guy as a luxury player, while Ugarte is what United need. We always seem to want to prioritize lesser players because it's what we need. Our fanbase loves grafters in the middle of the park.We run away as far as possible from any midfielder who can ever get remotely close to the ability of controlling a game. It’s in our DNA. The basketball team of football.
Fair enough as I forgot about that part of their modus operandi. They paid for him upfront all in one and added a Renato Sanches cover loan on top as a sweetener. The way they pay is practically impossible for normal clubs to compete with.
The thing is, he is also a grafter but one who's brilliant on the ball and is also very good at heading itOur fanbase is the same way. We have gotten players City wanted (maguire), in fact City has missed out on a few players I believe as they won't over spend.Go on..
.I really wanted him instead of Ugarte, he is such a big player for psg.I’ve always rated this little guy, I even started him in the draft game already.
A top midfield player
I think its a case of he's part of the best midfield duo, like xavi and iniesta, and will dominate football for a while.I am pacified by the fact that there was no hope for anyone but the other oil club to land him, but still, arguing for pages and pages in his transfer thread that this kid is “the one” and that it was very, very obvious before PSG came in and ruined the dream of getting him in here, feels like one of the most surreal experiences I’ve had on the caf.
These sure thing players, particularly him and Kvara, are like shooting stars - you should see them and instantly know they are special and destined for the very top. At the rate Neves is going, he’s going to have a phenomenal trophy haul and ratio of brilliance per season those trophies were won in. He’s already a top 3-5 midfielder on the planet; all that’s really left is challenging Pedri and Vitinha for #1, but that may be beyond him.
