Quite like the idea of a versatile defender. Never seen him play though.
 
High potential signing, he did well in the Spanish second tier last year. Still unproven though. Low release clause so defo worth the risk. Joaquin Seys Is another one we should definitely be looking at, was brilliant last year at times in Champions league and is equally comfortable playing right back as he is at left back.
 
Seems a little on the green side to be a serious squad option, I’d have thought.

Wasn't that one of the many things ineos said they'd look into more when coming onboard ?
I recall ineos promising us we'd be looking into top talent (before their breakout), free transfers and we'd be looking into players with favourable releases clause's.
 
Obviously have never heard of him but we need to sign a LB that can start. Shaw is not going to stay fit all season. If the club thinks this kid is ready to come in and start if needed, then sure I’m all for it. It would be a big jump from where he’s currently playing though.

Shaw absolutely can’t play 50-60 games. He can play 30-40 though. A promising 18-23yo that can play all the domestic cups, more regulation league and CL games is the route to go if a first choice option, like Hall, isn’t on the market.

If that player kicks on, great, we’ve saved a fortune. If not, we go for Hall next summer with a backup already in the squad.

I watched quite a few Brugge Champion's League games last season, and I was not impressed by Seys at all. Tbh, more often than not he looked a bit of a liability and one of their worst players.

I can't post links yet, but check out Arsenal's first 2 goals vs Brugge in the CL last season for an example. Highlights easily available on youtube. First goal Madueke easily bullies Seys out the way. Second goal Seys is a statue at the back post, and leaves Madueke un-marked with a free header. I think he'll struggle in the PL.

I've only seen highlights of Salinas, but my initial impressions are he seems to have a higher ceiling than Seys. He seems a bit like a young Dalot, and having also played CB at times will I think hold him in good stead for the PL.

Thanks for the stats. They do look very promising tbf. No idea how he compares with other top performers in La Liga 2, but on paper at least he looks like a very good attacking full back. Very fast I have to say, 35km/h is very quick for a non-attacker. 7 assists is promising. Much harder to judge defensive ability from stats so don't think we can really analyse his ability there without actually seeing him play. There's no consistent way to record defensive positioning in numbers unfortunately. Clearances, recoveries and interceptions are probably as close as we can get.
 
I think a young squad player is the way to go myself as I still feel there is life in the legs of Luke Shaw.

Could turn out a bargain.
 
I just googled him because I have no idea who he is and I saw that his manager came out recently saying he doesn’t want to go anywhere just yet. He’s also been linked with Barcelona and it was their interest that got the manager to make that comment.

He basically said they (him and some other linked with a move) don't want to lose them and they're still training well, not that he wouldn't leave given the opportunity

Alberto added that the duo remain "important" to Racing and claimed neither player has made it clear they want to leave with the new La Liga season starting this weekend.

"They're very important to us," he said. "I don't want them to leave. And they show every day that they don't either. But we know how this world works and there are release clauses. If a team comes along and pays the clause, they cease to be our players."

I disagree. Lb is a position where the player we sign needs to be good enough to start consistently imo. Don't know whether Salinas is good enough to do that or not, but a squad player definitely isn't enough considering our lack of options there. Even if Shaw starts more games, they need to be good enough to legitimately challenge him at a minimum.
 
Again this seems like someone who came up with high quality metrics in our data team’s results.

If our approach is to basically beat the likes of Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth and the Red Bull clubs to the punch for these dirt cheap diamonds in the rough that may develop into top quality players in about 2-3 years then I’m fine with it. Michael Sansoni is going to be a very valuable asset for us, especially if these kind of signings end up being mainstays in the first team.
 
Apparently Barca want him and he wants to go there, even though they already have two LB

Edit: just realised he is still suffering from injury and hasn't played a minute of pre-season. Avoid!
 
19 year old from the Spanish 2nd division is hardly the profile needed, he's less experienced than Amass who at least has Championship experience.

There's a good chance this guy would have to play nearly the whole season after Shaw inevitably goes down with lengthy injury.

Agreed - the only way I can see this working is if we're happy with Shaw for another season or two, and want to see Amass / Salinas battle it out

Tielemans is the marquee midfield signing this summer, just because we got a fecking outstanding deal on him doesn’t change the fact he’s in the top group of midfielders in the league.

Price doesn’t equate to quality. If we’d of signed Evan Ferguson 2 years ago he’d of been our ‘Marquee’ Striker signing and he’s currently stinking up a league where Zirkzee was Player of the year.

No worries, difficult to tell as everywhere I look online people are demanding another midfield signing because we haven’t got a 70/80 million player yet. We have we just found out about a release clause :lol:
