Some really classy touches at times, a few signs that he is starting to feel more comfortable at the pace of the PL.

Yeah he certainly understands the rhythm of Premier League matches far more than when he first came. He also finds ways to get himself involved a lot better.

Fuk me. THere's actually a good footballer in him. Those skill, fight and energy. Where has he been in the last 5 months?
There have been increasing signs of it over the last couple of months, albeit mostly when coming off the bench. He's been slowly getting better the longer the season has gone on (hardly the first player to do that in his first season).

I think he felt he had to do a lot of the work on ball carrying and finding a killer pass, let alone score a goal. Overwhelmed with that and was sloppy at times, but generally positive. He has a place in my opinion, there's a lot to like about his game if we have the right pieces everywhere else.

True. But in this game, felt like he looked like a different player. He's much stronger and skillful.

Probably playing off a striker does help, and he rarely played together with Hojlund.

Good player.

I feel he's one of those that needs to keep playing and could develop into something really nice, he is skilful and selfless - the selfless part sometimes to his detriment - but he has good technical markers - and can be a good facilitator for other attackers

If he doesn't develop here, I can see him becoming a tremendous player elsewhere.

He definitely got something, begining to quite like him in all honesty.

Think he need to play regularly for the rest of the season.

Had some lovely touches and close ball control today. Certainly isn’t the problem. Any chance of us scoring looked like coming through him creating something today.

Played well, fair play to him as he was down and out at one point. We need players with this sort of mentality.

His general player is very good, but he really needs to score more goals.
He won't. Will chip in from time to time but he is not a goal scorer. His strength is to facilitate others. He did that decently today. Unfortunately, we don't have strikers/attackers to take advantage of it.

Yeah but he doesn't look like any kind of threat unless it's a tap in. Even when playing well as he did today.

That header kind of summed him up as a goalscorer. Doesn't seem to have the instinct at all.

Our best attacker today which isn’t saying much but still. I think if those Garnacho chances fell to him he’d have scored at least one with the way he was playing.

It's his off the ball work that needs to get better. Seems pretty hefty, too. Makes really good decisions and made some fantastic players look bang avg.

Fair play to him for turning it around from when he was subbed off in the first half. Hes really grown as a player - holds the ball up really well, great close control - just a shame that he has absolute garbage to lay the ball off to. Think he’d do great sitting in behind a world class number 9 and just playing balls into them.

Sadly he has Hojlund to lay it off to.

Some lovely skill and touches today. He's done OK since the Newcastle humiliation. It's almost as if he said to himself that he's not going to leave the club with his tail between his legs without showing everyone he can play, so it shows he has a backbone and character.

Slow as f**k though, needs pace around him. And like most of our team, can't finish for shit.

Worth keeping another season to see if he can kick on.

Looked very classy. Nice control, good give and go. There is something about him. I think he could claim one of those number ten roles.

He’s technically at the level you need. He’s not physically or intensity wise, though.

Sorry, but don’t think he is it. Yes, he has a good touch and can display it on occasions like today. However, he just lacks that tenacity and intensity to succeed. He is always looking to lay off the ball and never takes the game by the scruff. A couple of times he was happy to let the ball go and lost us the possession.

He’s got great ball control and footwork, problem is physically he can’t keep up which is a big problem in a league that focuses on pace and power.

Yeah agree.

He can't play in that position long term. Hasn't got the athleticism for it.

He's an old fashioned No.10. Or a second striker in a 442.

He's alright, but just too slow to decide games at this level. And that's what we need from someone playing in his position.

He played some key, one touch passes today, one of which Garnacho/Hojlund spurned as per usual.

Yeah he came out of today with a bit of credit, which is some achievement tbf.

If he played for a top team who could maybe carry a few stars he would be right at home.

Overall played well. His linkup play is good and he set up quite a few attacks. Like many said he’s no finisher, but he would tandem well with a proper striker.
Get Oshimen or Gyokeres in this summer and the pieces could fall into place

Also those saying that he’s just not good enough should look at where he came from and where he is now. I don’t think he hit his ceiling yet. If he can keep on developing (and we get that proper striker on board) I think he can become a valued starter

Should have scored that header and there was also another situation where he didn't move after Garnacho's shot was saved by the keeper cause he was offside. A true striker should have moved immediately back onside to try to score the rebound.

He is a bit of a baller though, really impressed with his hold up play and some of those turns in tight spaces
