You could easy tell by the fact he wasn't able to walk on his own after he got injured. Gutted for him. He seemed to be getting into a good form, creating partnership with the players around him.

Gutted about this. Just as he was growing with every performance.

He's shown some astonishing skill and technique at times, increasingly so in recent matches. His passing is inconsistent but when it's good it's really good. There's one hell of a player in there, it's just a question of whether he can bring it all together in a manner that will prove effective.

Anddd now we have to wait until next season to find out. Grrrrr.

Yeah, I'm really happy with him and his attitude since the first Newcastle game, it's a massive shame that he's out now. The injury came from an incredible mazy run as well.

We should be able to replace him with Chido in the europa league squad now if right was right. One player in the squad is out for the season so should be allowed replace him. If the same thing happened to city they absolutely would find a loophole to suit them.

I know he was hitting some improved form recently and well played on him knuckling down but astonishing skill and technique, what I miss ?

Some of his close control and dribbling has been absolutely sublime, at times.

Correct. A few times he's had some very nice touches and runs with the ball

Unfortunately most of the time his touch has been poor, he's lost the ball running with it and averages 0.7 shots on target per 90 mins. He had a couple of good games. Far more is needed

Nothing. Lot of posters enjoy living on the "further out" side of the spectrum where player are awful and crap or astonishing. The guy had a good few scenes and no doubt, given that the technical Level in our team is as dire as it is, he stuck out but after all, it wasn't much more than a few good scenes.

100%

In this team when you start to look decent, it means you finally reach that state of intensity and effort you should put into every match. But because they are not used to it, they get injured.

Exactly and not only that but you're doing more work relative to everyone else as you don't get the same support from them, which makes you overextend yourself. It's a miracle we have Dalot and Bruno available considering the shifts they put in.

Not his biggest fan but the injury is a disaster for us and our Europa chances. Hojlund does not even look like a footballer.

I've avoided criticising Amorim much since he joined because the squad and circumstances are dreadful, but bit baffling the way he's favoured Hojlund in the important games recently, and started Zirkzee in the meaningless one only for him to get injured.
To be fair Zirkzee got a start after a good sub appearance so was basically rewarded for that and I think he had a good chance of keeping the spot. Just a real shame he got injured.

Shame to lose him, one of the few players in the squad - particularly in attacking positions - who was in an upwards trajectory.

He's probably hovering around a 5/10 first season, but given that was probably closer to a 2 a few months ago it shows his improvement.

He's a player who will look phenomenal in a functioning/successful team - bit of a cherry on top. Not convinced he's one that necessarily pulls a team out of a hard place but time will tell.

He can be a neat enough player, but he hardly tears it up. No EPL side should be any worse without a player like him, it's just a shame we have zero players to take over.. Shambles of a squad.

Its easy to forget its his first season and his first year in a new country as a young man. Takes time to adapt.

Also, on the pitch it is quite obvious that his style of play relies on intricate link-up play, one-twos, clever flicks etc.... all of this stuff requires having an understanding with your teammates, which comes with time. This is very different to a player whose strengths are - say - dribbling and long shots, who only have to rely on themselves to contribute. Zirkzee is clearly a player that - if/when he is completely tuned in and on the same wavelength as the other attackers, can produce incredible moments. Whether he can do it consistently enough and whether his output is good enough to be here for the long term remains to be seen - but he deserves to be given some time.

I reckon he'll get next season either way especially because of his ability to play 2 positions.

I really don’t believe that would be the case.

He’s a highlights player, who I think would be far more appreciated in the 90s - where there was less of a need to press, and the game was less physical.

He can do a job for us, and I’m sure he will be here next season. Hopefully he can step up and improve. Whilst he has been on an upward trajectory of late, it’s still not good enough.

I think he could be a good squad player for us.

Let's not pretend that he is a prolific striker for this team, he is just less shit than the other striker. Bad luck for him but nothing less is expected for this team.

I like Zirkzee a lot and it’s a shame he got injured but my gripe is that we let Rashford leave on loan without replacement and we know what our injury record is.
Such bad and incompetent management by the club.

Zirkzee should remove that story from his Instagram about fans leaving. It was a great result but we've sat through the worst Manchester United side in generations consistently supporting them after disappointment upon disappointment and it's a bad look for a player, who has been underwhelming, to be posting stuff like that

A player who seems to be unclear about his role. Does he score goals? Make goals? Show strength and bully opposition defenders? He doesn't have power...and although he has some nice technique, he doesn't seem to want, really want to improve the team, and take his opportunity to make a difference at Man Utd. And I find this annoying.

I don't think people watch our players sometimes. Pressing and winning the ball is one of the few areas where Zirkzee is actually exceptional.

WTF is this? This is a blatant insult of our player for no good reason. What do you mean he doesnt want to improve our team? You are basically implying that he has owned tools and cant be bothered? Ridiculous

He really isn’t, and you’ve misunderstood the point of my post. Compared to Rasmus he’s better, for sure, but in no way ‘exceptional’ - exceptional would suggest he’s one of the best in the league! Do you think that’s the case?

Pressing is just one part of the physical game where he doesn’t excel. Hopefully he can improve, as he’s got a lot of work to do.

Yea, I think he's one of the least highlights players we have.
