If he’s fit enough, even though far from ideal - he simply has to start. If he can give us an hour it would be fantastic.
Zirkzee was showing an improvement for sure in the games leading to his injury. His confidence was growing, his ball carrying is excellent, he is strong and looked prepared to work. I wonder if he's a candidate to partner Cunha in the 10s role.

He's only been out 4 weeks so if he's actually fully over the injury, he should be able to start.

Hamstrings are one I always can go again immediately. I don’t think he’s worth a start, but my god do we need someone to come off the bench and change the game a bit.

I get the impression from his time here so far that he’s a player that greatly benefits from a bit of match rhythm and if he was unexpectedly available for tomorrow I wouldn’t be confident that he’d be able to produce the kind of form he was starting to build pre-injury. Desperation sub at best I think.
Almost certainly will produce more than Hojlund though. We cannot carry players in a game like this, and we all know Hojlund contributes nothing.
Huge news. He actually makes us play better instead of actively worse, even if he isn't a big goal threat.
A half fit Zirkzee can still hold the ball up better than a fully fit Hojlund

Potentially yes but he actually had fewer goal involvements from similar number of games/minutes at that point. The difference was mostly that you could see Zirkzee finding his feet in the system and the potential seemed to be there whereas Rasmus was devolving rapidly. That said, he looked good played as a 10, the couple of games he was put back up top before the injury he was still totally ineffective as he is just not a number 9.
I wouldn't back either against Van De Ven and Romero but yeah great option to have. If we win it's because their midfield is kinda crap.
I would rather have him start then Hoijland at this point. Could surprise us with something. But, I don't see it happening.
I wouldn't expect much from him if he starts, since he is coming back from injury, but he would still be the best option. If he then can't play for more than 60 minutes, we can always sub on Højlund, who does tend to do a bit better against tiring defenders.

Think it's more likely Hojlund starts and then Amorim brings Zirkzee on at some point, especially as it'll be his first minutes since injury at Lyon.
Maybe. But this is a final. The season in a game. We’re not saving players for anything, if he can play, he should play I think.
I think zirkzee has been back for a little while. The newly returned players get that hall way welcome. He didn't in the released video.
Even if he's "fit" for selection, does Joshua seem like the type of player that gets back up to speed straight away?

Hojlund wasn't exactly great but Zirkzee had like 2 touches and did absolutely nothing else the entire time he was on, practically invisible, yet all I see in the Hojlund thread is how terrible he is and he should leave yet the couple of Zirkzee posts is nothing but praise? I'm really confused

Was nice to see him back. One of the very, very few bright spots this season for me.
He has some potential
Him simply being able to control a football well makes me think he is better than he actually is because we're so used to seeing the other guy (I don't even want to say his name anymore) do absolutely nothing.

Him with one leg is better than anything from Hojlund.
His ceiling might be higher than we think....
Unless we get a Gyokeres or Oshimen, he should be the starting striker season. It's grim but at least we can build play from/with him.
