Did pretty well.
I actually think he's very good. We constantly fire balls into a striker in terrible positions and the fact he often manages to control it and do something is quite impressive.
Feel like at this point him rotating with delap is prob the best we can hope for

He can control a ball so automatically the best 9 we have at the club atm. Need to see way more from him next season to say that he's earned a starting place in the 1st 11 but if fit he's the default 9.

Hojlund wasn't exactly great but Zirkzee had like 2 touches and did absolutely nothing else the entire time he was on, practically invisible, yet all I see in the Hojlund thread is how terrible he is and he should leave yet the couple of Zirkzee posts is nothing but praise? I'm really confused
The state of things suggests neither of them are good enough
It tells a story on its own where 2 touches are more than enough to show who the better footballer is between the two.

No - it tells a story of how agenda driven this whole thing is, regardless of how bad Hojlund has been in general. Hojlund again wasn't great but he held the ball up well in the first half when it was asked of him, and he came closest to scoring as well bar an acrobatic goal line clearence. That's more than Zirkzee did the entire time he was on.

Meh it's gonna be mainly one game a week. Looking at like 10-15 plus fewer games than we are used to. Sign cunha and another attacking mid and just hope things click.
Did he even have a shot? Being better than Hojlund is not enough. Sorry I know he’s the new savior on here but I don’t see it. Cunha can do what he does and more.
Point is I'd rather have Cunha and Zirkzee starting over Hojlund and Mount or any other combination of the 4 players.
It's just obscene that he can do more in twenty minutes than Rasmus over the last several games

Looked tidy but ultimately offered no real goal threat. The fact he was one of the better players says it all.
Would work great in an old SAF 442 formation. Link up play with a good striker could be amazing.
If we can sell him for a break even on PSR terms then we have to do it. He might be a fine squad option for a team that’s doing well, but we’re desperate for goal scorers and need to raise money from whoever we can.

He's a good tidy squad option to have off the bench, did well yesterday. But he's not the number 9 we need starting long term unfortunately.

Quality footballer in a absolute shit team.
Can't really blame him for anything yesterday, he's been out for months and then comes on to try and turn around a final with 20 minutes to go against a deep Spurs side sitting deep & packing the middle of the pitch. He showed within minutes what we severely lack when Hojlund plays though by actually being able to receive a ball and find a teammate.

I think he’d thrive with those two and Amad at RWB around him. Think he’s far too slated around here because United fans are disgusted generally with strikers that aren’t obsessed with scoring goals, but he really improved after a torrid start and I thought his progress was clear before he got hurt.
I really rate him, think he will be a excellent player for us.

Zirkzee is a false 9, not a ST. You don't use Zirkzee to score goals, you use him to link two inverted forwards for them to score goals.
Playing him or thinking he would thrive as the most forward striker as the front focal point to two attacking midfielders shows the low IQ of fans and Amorim.
It's pretty much playing 3 attacking midfielders with no forwards.

Should have been our front 3 this season, but Amorim has no intelligence to get the best out of players that does not suit his Plan A & has no plan B except playing Maguire upfront.
Not sure what a few people are on about it here. One of the first players who should be sold this summer because he still carries some stock Italy: the longer he stays here the more his price drives down and he becomes a loan move in a year or two.

Hard disagree. He’s a young player who needed time to adapt but has since shown a lot of potential and is worth giving time. If we sign a goalscorer then he can be given the space to impose his own strengths which is clearly playmaking.
He's got potential, but he's just not a traditional 9, unless we play two goalscorers in the 10 positions so he can drop deeper.

I think that’s where Amorim will be using him, as an alternative/backup to Cunha in the left 10 position. We just need a genuine goal scorer in front of them.

He's an attacking player that doesn't score. Has no pace to run at the opposition and pose a 1v1 threat. Has no pace to run in behind the opposition defence.
What exactly is he offering, the occasional bit of nice link up? It's just not enough. He might get the odd assist but he's never gonna be a Bruno type creative outlet either to offset his other deficiencies.
Our standards have fallen off a cliff amongst our fanbase. I've seen fans on here begging the club to extend Maguire and Casemior's contract over the last few months too. I feel like I'm watching a different sport to some fans on here.
Unless we have long term injuries to our other attackers, he'll be on the bench. There's no chance Amorim is heading into next season thinking he'll be an important fixture in our starting 11.
He had a decent cameo in the final and I have a feeling Amorim wished he could have been fitter otherwise I think he would have almost certainly started him over Hojlund. I get the feeling his playing time was limited based on the miraculous turnaround in recovery and a risk of aggravating the injury and being out longer.
You might be surprised. If this summer window we assemble a working offensive force in front, he can be one of them.
