Someone said his the same genre of player as Joao felix and i couldn't agree more. Not really a 9, not really a 10. Looks good on the ball and looks like he would be class if he put it all together but he most likely wont.

To be fair he scored 7 goals last season (3 in the league). I don’t think he is being overhyped but there a useful player there potentially, even if he had only scored two goals.
Think he scored against Fulham and Everton in the league last season and that is it. Most of the time he doesn't get anywhere near the goal to even miss chances. He can be an option of the bench or to change things up but he won't ever be a good enough starting striker

Certainly not good enough to be our central no. 9 , even with the quality of Cunha and Mbuemo by his side but a very very useful back up striker who can come on and completely change the dynamics of the way we play by forcing defenders to focus on entirely new set of problems.

Such a poor signing and one that for me dispels the notion that INEOS have somehow improved our transfer business. You look at his stats and he has never been prolific in either goals or assists even in leagues like Belgium. A vague player with no clear role when we need a goal scorer. Just like Mount a pointless signing when we had huge actual shortcomings in the team to address. Its why we desperately need a CF and I am sure Amorim will push for it, as he needs one for his set up.

He's needs a mindset change to become hunger for goals and be more aggressive. He's too comfortable taking the space defenders leave behind for him, which is typically outside the box away from danger. He does really good work there, just need to force the issue more in the box. There's technical excellence their.

He is not that young but he still does not have a ton of experience from first team football.
Had a loan spell in Belgium, a season in serie a, and now he is here. You could see that he was not ready initially, but he worked hard to improve and became much more mobile during the season. We saw a very interesting player towards the end, before his injury at Newcastle. Players with his combination of big frame and quick technical feet does not come around too often. I think he has a good possibilty to turn into a very good nr 9 that can play with his back to the goal and help other players get the ball going forward. Quite sure he can be effective as a 10 as well, he has good vision and crisp passing.

Just don’t come back overweight after the summer break!

As it stands the lad has a huge opportunity next season if he has the right mindset.

For what? At best he's 3rd or 4th choice 10 if we get are targets in the transfer market.

If we could re-coup the 30 odd million we paid and put it on a new GK that would benefit the team 10 fold.

He's an option for 9 and 10. It's probably new striker, zirkzee, Chido for the depth chart at number 9. Unless we want to move Cunha and Mbeumo from their positions.

If he gets a bit leaner and fitter, he could be our own Ekitike.

A part of me is excited to watch a front of Zirkzee, Cunha and Mbuemo with Amad and Bruno in and around them.

But I’m not trying to convince you, if you’d rather flog him for 30M then great!

I like him.

Can think of many players besides him I want to be moved on. Hes got character that many United signings and alot of the squad lack.

His link up play is excellent and while we need more goals, hes a super sub option to have, particularly if we want to change things up. He really does have a sexy Berbatov feel at times and this was his first season in the EPL so good change he’s better next season.

People vastly underestimate a persons character when determining who “is good enough” for United.

A lot depends on him. With Cunha and possibly Mbeumo, we got two goal scoring no 10. I am sure he will play a big part next season. I don't think the club will spend big on striker this season.

Agreed. We've had too many fragile souls on our teams lately. Though there is a fine line between being confident and inspirational and a cocky ass. That's why I still rue departures like McTominay or a Blind before.

This dude could be a Fellaini or Chicharito suber sub. I just hope that the rest of the team will be more like it was during the latter than the former. I rate his technical abilities as higher than either though.

Big year for him ahead to showcase the best of his abilities if we sign Mbuemo, since it's unlikely that we break the bank for a target man after those 2 signings.

Where do you think he plays next season? We're going to have 5+ options for 2 10 spots. Unless he's going to be the back up 9 i don't see him getting much game time.
If we don’t sell him he’ll likely play upfront.

Yep. The same people who are saying “sell Bruno to improve the team because he doesn’t fit the exact role Amorim needs” are saying “hang on to Zirkzee who can’t play either of the roles he’d ostensibly be called upon to play.” If we’re being ruthless and only thinking of the team’s future, Zirkzee has to be sold, stat.

He's most likely going to be second choice #9, and with two proper goal threats playing behind him (if we get Mbeumo) it should work a fair bit better than it did last season. With Zirkzee himself hopefully continuing the improvement we saw in the second half of the season, it's potentially a dangerous combination and I could see him set up Mbeumo in particular for a lot of good chances.

I like him. He’s a very technical player and needs similar around him. Cunha and Mbuemo will be a huge upgrade on some of our braindead forwards. We also need a great midfield passer to get the ball to him quickly. There’s definitely a good player there and before his injury he was starting to click and cause problems.

Could/should look better playing along side some competent forwards but I wouldn't trust it. Not sure he has a position, he's got a lot to prove at this level.

My prediction, we're discussing a few to sell this time next year.

He was slow when he first came in, playing to a Seria A tempo, behind the speed of United play, which is some feat, playing some blind passes where there wasn't a player. He looked lost.

However, second part of the season, he seemed much sharper, better passing, better understanding of the play, more confidence in the way he played. Some nice dribbling, balls over the top, and some nice 1-2 intricate plays, the first time double passing sequence with Bruno against Newcastle comes to mind. However, while this was a sign of an improving player, he still needs to go at least one more level up, and to start scoring more often. He will definitely benefit playing with better and technical players, but it remains to be seen if he can be our Firmino. Definitely keep for one more season, he deserves a chance.

This seems like the kind of overhyping players often get after a stint out. He has some nice touches but is so slow and scored two goals last season

There's actually a simple way to judge these players in a more honest way.

For those who are hyping up Zirkzee.

If he played for Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs - would any of you have the slightest bit of concern about him going on to be a top class attacking player for them? Would anyone have any fear that this player who's had a poor goal record throughout his career, and scored 3 premier league goals last season, will go on to be a prolific goalscorer for them?

We'd want them playing Zirkzee as much as possible, because the more attackers they have on the pitch that don't score, don't assist, and have no pace, the better it is for us.

In hindsight this was such a bizarre signing. The guy is terrible in the final third, plays with no intensity and appears to have a weak mentality.

A few months ago this was exactly what I was saying too. But I do think he started to show a stronger mentality in coming back from the Old Trafford boos with some genuine improvement, and also more intensity. Albeit that wasn't a hard ask after how lackadaisical he was initially!

Still a hell of a lot of room for improvement in bith areas, but just for in the EL final I thought we looked 10x better when he came on. Admittedly that also isn't actually a huge compliment, given how he was replacing a statue in Hojlund! But I really wish he had been given the opportunity to start that game or at least come on at HT, given how Hojlind was looking even more ineffective than usual. Van de Ven and Romero just completely nullified him, whereas Zirkzee had them out of position and creating space for others, but there was only about 15 minutes left by that point. Still grates me how long it took Amorim to change up something that clearly wasn't working in the biggest game of the season. Rant over.

Hmmm not sure that's the right way to describe him. I think his biggest problem is that he doesn't get into the box / scoring positions enough. He rather drop back and link up play. Also not the fastest.

The touch of Berbatov and the turning circle of Fellaini.
I mean this is clearly bollocks. He’s a remarkably elegant and nimble player for a man of his size. Go look at his highlights for this season just passed and there is numerous examples of him twisting defender blood.

Meh, he’s quite different from both Cunha and Mbeumo, who both thrive in pact, counter attacking set ups.
Exactly, or we coukd keep throwing Maguire up front, like we used to with Fellaini and McT. Having options on the bench doesn’t necessarily mean like for like.

When United had Yorke, Cole , sheringam and solskaer, they could all score goals but they were all different kind of forwards in their own way.

I still think there’s more to come from Zirks aswell, he did really well for his first season and many were gutted when he got injured as he just got going. I think he can kick on next season and improve a lot.

Lots of presumptions around here that our new signings won’t go the way of a lot of our other ones and fail to raise to the level we need. Zirks has done well relative to his cost and would be handy if some signings don’t work out.

Completely agree, think there’s more to come from him. I love the way he plays football and I think his workrate has improved a lot and he realises he doesn’t have a lot of time on the ball.

I think the trick to getting more out of him is having players close to him on the pitch, which I can see Cunha (and maybe Mbeumo) doing. What he’s good at is the ball sticking to him, so if Bruno plays a ball into him from deep and he’s surrounded by defenders he can quickly lay the ball into one of the two mentioned above and then move, and then we’re on the ball in a dangerous situation (with the wingback stretching the play alongside).

This is exactly what Rasmus unfortunately isn’t great at.

This would also help breakdown stubborn defences, and something I don’t think we do enough.

Would be a much better player if he lost weight and became a bit more quicker and agile. He'd resemble Isak and Ekitike a bit more in style.

I think he should use his big ass to shield the ball better and gain space, like Mbeumo.

Jokes are not your forte i take it.

Don't think that's as useful, as being able to outpace defenders and move quicker with the ball in and around the box. I think he has vision, technique and creativity but just moves way too slowly.
