It's annoying that we don't know what to do with this bloke. He has that Berbatov gene without the killer instinct for the goals. So frustrating that we can't fit him into any sustainable system. I'd love to see him in a 4-4-2 behind the striker.

I think he'd be incredible if you stuck two off-ball runners either side of him. Like Firmino with Salah and Mane.
He can look both good and crap within the same few seconds.
It's easy to see that he is simply not suited to the PL pace at highest level. Player that's good on the eye but has nowhere near enough other attributes to play at high level for United, I am not sure he is even good to come as a sub these days. There are lot of players in the world that have good technique but can't play in PL.
Even Berbatov was always bad as a sub, but Berba had lot of other abilities such as passing, good shot, finishing, football brain, etc. and I don't think Zirkzee will ever be on that level.

Had some nice moments and some bad moments but even then you can tell how having a conventional centre forward in that position is better than playing Mbeumo there.
I still love to watch him play & wish we had some league cup games to see him play more games this season.

True. Couldn’t this be simply because he hasn’t been playing enough though?It’s all nice having that silk and skill with your play but when you have no end product then it’s pointless. People compare him to Berba but Berba scored goals for us and was easily so so much better. Zirkzee always looks so awkward when shooting. We need to move him on.

On a slightly positive note, he's good to watch for most of it until it's time to be an actual threat.

Good om the eye,but doesn't have the tenacity or work rate to survive in this League.Serie A will fit him like glove.
He and Maz were the only ones trying to play sensible and hold onto it near the end. Think he’s a great option off the bench in those situations. Not sure if he’s capable of more for us though.

How do y'all compare him to Havertz or Woltemade? They have similar squad roles -- really good link up players due to their height and technical ability but won't have any output in this league. Is Havertz a lot faster?
I actually like him, not good enough start. If he has to due to injuries, the team has to play a little differently.
He likes to drop deeper near the midfield and ping passes forward out the wing. Wingers would need to be breaking the lines for him, he actually has a good range of passing.
Only problem with him is, he is inclined to occupy Brunos space. But he can easily bounce passes to Bruno when dragging the center back out of position, forcing a temporary back 3 who have to cover 2 wingers creating width.
The only problem is Zirkzee doesn't take the opportunity to attack the box, hes too casual.

I'd keep him for another year if we get into Europe. There'll be more than enough games for him to try and get on a scoring run. As a striker I don't see it, as an all round forward then yeah he's got something. His goal against palace away was ridiculous too. I think he should probably move and get games but I'd be happy to keep him
He's absolutely crap (relatively speaking ofc). The occasional exquisite first touch doesn't do enough to make up for the rest of his game. Will be off in the summer and rightly so.

I'll rather focus resources on signing a winger and two quality midfielders instead of trying to replace Zirkzee who we would have to sell at a loss especially given it's not like we're lacking in fire power at all.
He can have the cup games and I feel he's even better than he's shown already, maybe summer 2027 when hopefully we are thinking of pushing for a league title then we could look to replace if he hasn't stepped up.

Yeah what’s his face made a meal of it. Good shot but saveable by any half decent keeper.
He would look and would fit better if this was a side who were much more well-oiled, well-drilled, and moved the ball around quicker and with better accuracy. I thought he did alright when he came on. Probably the best out of all of the subs.
I want us to start him because he's one of our better players under pressure and in tight spaces but I don't see how he fits in.

I disagree. He's had good games here and brings something we sorely lack to the team when he's on the pitch. Problem is, Bruno is just better and I don't think he's a CF.

Lovely shot but says a lot about him as a player or attacker at least that we're shocked that he has the ability to strike a ball. Maybe he's good player in a different league but he's just not prem material.
