Such a passive player, Martial 2.0

I can't stand players like him, such low intensity and body language screaming "I don't care"

Hopefully we can get £20-25m for him and dont have to watch him anymore.
 
He's in a peculiar place in that he doesn't really have an organic position - he's not a 10, a 9 or anything else - but at the same time, can be quite effective in certain situations. This will be his final year to make himself useful imo (that's assuming he isn't moved on before the deadline).
 
I am just assuming that he will be sold.

He is one of a very small number of players who we don't really need that another club might actually want to buy.

I'd imagine we would need to secure the services of a new backup striker before selling him. Welbeck, even at his age, would be infinitely more effective in terms of getting us double digit league goals, which Zirkzee wouldn't come anywhere close to getting.
 
Has shown no development whatsoever since he got here. It’s just the first game of preseason, but he looked like he always does. Would be amazed if he doesn’t look exactly the same by the end of preseason.

Sell or swap, please.

Goes without saying for me he should be sold at the earliest opportunity. Just have to hope someone comes in for him.
 
I can’t imagine there is anyone who thinks he should stay.

He’s not a 10, he’s bit a 9… he’s not a player.
 
He just isn't it but it's not like he's going to get much game time so I'm not bothered. Up to him whether he's happy with that or not.
 
Weird player - I think I listened to an interview from one of our players where the interviewee mentioned that the team with Zirkzee on it always won the small sided games in training.

The pace in training, the minimised emphasis on actually winning, and the small playing area probably suits his traits. In an actual game, he's just not it in the PL.
 
He is tragic for us. If we can get 30 million then take it run. The man is absolutely not suited to the way we want to play
 
Easily one of the most frustrating players United have had. On paper, he has the ultimate modern forward toolkit, but he looks like a player who has no idea how to actually utilise it.
He has elite technical skill and a world-class first touch which is how you get highlight reels looking like Berba along with genuine size, strength, and the ability to execute quick, tight combinations with surrounding forwards.

The problem is he only exists on the field when the ball is at his feet. His off-the-ball movement, positioning, and tactical understanding are average at best. If he isn't actively finding or attacking space, his physical size and technical gifts are completely wasted.

Ultimately, this leaves him playing purely in moments. You'll get a spectacular first touch or a clever flick every now and then, but those flashes are rare. Until he learns how to influence a game without the ball he'll be a collection of raw attributes rather than a complete forward.
 
It’s hard to see who would buy him this summer, imagine the market for him is in Serie A so that’s a loan with obligation as the best case scenario.

His first touch is erratic. Sometimes world class sometimes very ordinary.
 
Weird player. He needs to stop drifting around and commit to either dropping back and helping the buildup or else stay forward and use his first touch to bring others into play closer to the goal.
At the minute he's failing at both aspects but you can see technically he is good but there's just no drive or bite about him at all.

This 100% there was one today where he truly had no right to control, it was fizzed in pretty fast and he controlled it perfectly. Then a few minutes later he fluffed a couple of easier ones. Now it was preseason so there's that but he does it a lot and his passing is very hit or miss for someone who many say his link up play is one of his stronger attributes.
 
He is not committed enough to do anything. Not enough goals to score from the bench (ref: Solskjaer, Chicharito).

We need to sell him this summer.
 
Can we just get rid already? Such a passive player with no end product at all. Hope there are buyers in Italy.
 
He’s had his two years and clearly isn’t upto it. Been linked with moves back to Italy pretty much since he arrived and now it’s time for him to leave and we hear almost nothing.
 
If Sesko isn't fit, one of Cunha or Mbeumo can play up top.

It'd be madness to keep him.

I'd honestly swap him for Welbeck with no further money involved.
 
Think this year he will come good. He has shown flashes of quality, time to do it consistently. 5 goals this season.

Intrigued as to whether anyone here still wants him about the place.

We've had many unpopular players with the fan base, but for the most part, they would still a portion of supporters. I suspect with Zirkzee, we're all detractors. I also think someone should tell the media team, because they keep using him for the team images they post! :lol:

What's awful is I think he can be good enough, I've seen a turn of pace, I've seen him score some good girls, display technicality, win the ball in the air and hold the ball up, he just plays like he can't really be bothered to impose himself, I can't work it out.

He, by all accounts, is amazing in the dressing room - so he is bringing the vibes, Jordan Henderson style... who can put a price on that?!
