If he had any interest in scoring goals then he'd be a decent player.
He's the kid who was the best player at every age group but found scoring goals boring and never grew out of it.

He's like Kane who has the ability to drop deep as a CDM but without the ability to be clinical in the box.
To get the best out of him you need wider players to be the main goalscorers and let him play off the midfielders. When he drops deep I do wonder if Bruno is taking the space Zirkzee wants to be in?
I don't think the tactics has helped him here to be honest; the style of football that suits him is more likely to be useful at Arsenal as we see when Havertz or Merino play for Arsenal as strikers.
We don't play with that type of striker.
Doubt hes going to make it here, all he needs is one bad game for everyone to be frustrated in him again. Very enjoyable player to watch for some reason.

Outrageous goal, not just the skill but he played three 1-2s in the build up.
Speed and desire are important attributes in which he displays less than anyone else in the league

Just seen a clip of his goal. It makes for a nice addition to his highlight reel, but unfortunately he's never going to get that amount of time and space in the Premier League. Hopefully he gets a permentant move to a slower league this summer. It would be best for all parties if he moved on.
Yes, I have said many times since he has been here, he shows that he has some tremendous technical abilities in his locker but is rarely able to show it in proper games. He seems to be well liked and highly rated by teammates too, but he just lacks the dynamism. I have seen him work hard and fight on the pitch but there is just a dynamism and explosiveness missing. If he was able to find a way to put everything together, he would be incredibly fun to watch and aid us in playing some beautiful stuff.
He got injured at an annoying time a couple of seasons ago, similarly to Dorgu last season and both happened to be hamstring.

It’s neither the time nor the space. He’s effective when he receives the ball in tight spaces in central areas to spring counter attacks or string the attack together, which unfortunately is where Bruno plays for us. He has a lovely way of using his body to beat players with little feints and drops of the shoulder and the ball sticks to his feet even when he’s receiving it at pace. With a champions league and two cups, I hope we finally get to rest Bruno and let him play off the main striker more.
I like Zirkzee but he should still be sold for any halfway decent fee.

You got the most replies in this topic and they are all negative. I think its clear you dont like him. Apparently he played well and you still can't say anything positive. Just be glad he played well and might increase his value a bit. He is a good footballer.

He's not playing Rosenborg every week unfortunately. Pleased for him, but there's no shame in not quite being good enough. In fact id argue its not a lack of ability that will stop him succeeding at United, he's just a bad fit for the league.

He is too slow to consistently dribble past Premier League defenders. His little feints and drops of the shoulder look cool when he pulls them off, but this is a rarity, as his G/A numbers are a reflection of his minimal contribution in the final third. He is a highlights reel player who doesn't offer enough to warrant keeping.
He is such a talented player on the ball. I wish he just had a bit more intensity even the level of Martial would have been good enough.
Who cares about a pre season friendly? Who on earth ignores 2 seasons of competitive football? You it seems.
2 years of evidence shows he’s not a good footballer though.
It’s not that I don’t ‘like’ him. It’s that’s he’s so woefully short of being anywhere near an effective footballer.
He’s a good player, he’s just in the wrong league. Would be a good buy for any of the Italian or German clubs
Nice goal and a good pass for Lacey. Obviously it was warmup competition but if he stays hopefully he can do a bit more of that
