It's bizarre.

He scored a nice goal against a crap side in a pre season friendly. And that seems to be enough to have people forget he's been here 2 years and looked shite almost the entire time.

He's almost zero threat. He has 2 PL goals since December 2024.

He should move to a club where he would be the star man and they would play to his strengths. He's the sort of player where if he finds his level, he will become a fan favourite.

We don't have enough players to move him on, that's the reality. I also suspect we'll only receive loan offers this summer. It's not really any benefit to us unless another forward is signed and that doesn't seem to be be a priority.
 
For me I don’t rate a player by the success they have at any individual club but what I see with my eyes. Zirkee is a good footballer player but not playing in a system that gets the best out of him. I also think if he is low on confidence this will affect him and thus his influence due to the type of player he is. More so than most.

I think with a team that has more consistent control/structure than we have in the last few years would have seen him play better than he has for us but unfortunately you can probably say that for a few of our purchases. Good player for me just not the type I think we need right now.
 
His biggest problem is his lack of aggression. If he could use his frame and size properly, and combine that with his obvious skill on the ball, he would be a problem for anyone. We've seen that when he has a point to prove from time to time, but it's just not in him to be that player consistently.

A loan to Italy is not a bad option. Would rather that, then him here and playing a handful of games. That’s of no use to us or to him.

Hopefully if he can go to a club and play, then a permanent transfer can follow next summer.

Keeping him doesn’t help his career, and he’s shown he can’t be a player who comes in and plays every now and again.
 
Pre-season Cantona didn't have that long on the pitch, but made an impact. Was knocking Atletico players over with little effort.

Worth noting that at that point, we were mostly playing their reserves.
 
Looks ready for PL. Get a feeling that, it could be his breakout season. Rather than a loan or 20 odd million max we could get, we better try him for one more season.

Thought the same until you posted that then he did 2 back to back failed 5 yard passes that nearly had them break on us. Personally don't have a problem with giving him cup/easy CL draws but if we can get a fee for him I would sell.
 
Not bad at all as our 3rd or 4th striker option after Sesko, Cunha with Mbeumo making runs in front, and Mbeumo like we started with today... Particularly suited our counter attack play when PSG dominated the ball in the 2nd half
 
Zirkzee surprisingly looks fit and ready. Very good pre season up until now. He played great today.

Just need to stop spamming those one twos that didnt work anyway. Its not Winning Eleven, he needs to hold the ball as a striker. Maybe Carrick has had a word with him

Never felt his issue is ability or physicality. Its the mentality for the intensity of the prem, pressure to perform and be productive for a big team that he can't wrap his head around
 
Fun player to watch, has some seriously classy moments, a slower league just suits him better.

You'd hold L1 so the receiving player makes a run off the ball, after they pass it back. Zirkzee just mogs the camera and puts his shades on :cool:
 
Bullied PSG players off the ball. With his impressive hold up play, we ought to try him for another season. He‘s worth easily what we bought him for also.
