Joshua Zirkzee

Not for Zirkzee they wouldn't. Chelsea had to loan Nicholas Jackson last season because they couldn't sell him and he's a better player.
You forgot to mention that there was a 16m loan fee that Bayern paid and Chelsea got to keep the asset to potentially permanently sell it. Absolute scam, we can never complete such deal.

Loan.... Feck us with our selling ability and feck Juventus with their loan deals.

There is almost zero chance we'll let him go out on loan unless it comes with a ridiculous loan fee + obligation.

We're only interested in selling him for the cash - sounless the loan is with a hefty obligation I seriously doubt we'll be interested.

I think ultimately we have to just get rid of him, he’s not going to play a lot, Carrick only started him once and I think a loan that covers his wages, has a fee of a few million and an option is not out of the question.

Don’t think it is realistic to sell him outright, a loan with obligation would be ideal but he can’t still be at the club when the window closes so might have to take what we can get.

Another atrocious signing, may aswell have pissed £35m up against the wall.

£35m wasn’t that large a figure. If we paid £50m+ then it’ll be a bad buy.

I think he’s very suited to Serie A. I see it as a punt that didn’t pay off. There will be plenty more like that in the future.

Do loan with obligation if they get champions league and then we can all spend the next 8 months cheering on Juve like we did with Napoli last season.

And then get a proper striker in.

Sometimes i wonder if i should change career path and knock on the clubs door and apply for a scouting role. I'm no nostradamus but i seem to know more than our scouts. Not to sound arrogant but i have been more or less right on the majority of our signings the last couple of years.

And being wrong on players in the serie a is even more hilarious. That league is probably the easiest league to scout for premier league teams and predict future results.

Jackson is far better than Zirkzee. People genuinely think a striker who's scored 5 league goals is going to get this big fee back, not happening.

If he’s leaving it means we are replacing him and I have no issues with that.

Loan Endrick or Arda Guler for the season.

5 league goals in 2 years, he's been an absolutely shit signing. Weghorst/Ighalo level shite, but at least we didnt pay for them and could send them back.

He's obviously a bad buy. Bought as an offensive player and he's got 1 goal every 400minutes. Awful. Been a long time since i've seen an offensive player so averse at scoring a goal.

Which is the issue buying from Serie A. Not to mention the quality of that league is so poor that it's hard to judge a players actual ability. I'm not sure why we keep going back.
I think it's more the profile we buy. We bought someone who isn't a striker, to be a striker. None of the managers (who all play completely different styles) have really found a way to get any real use out of him, bar last min cameos. That's on the recruitment team. Tonali, Califiori, Thiaw, Huijsen, Jimenez (the Bournemouth one), all were good players or got sold for big money.

If we're sending him on loan with an option to buy then we have send him to a smaller club then Juve ie a club were he plays week in week out

How is Guler replacing Zirkzee exactly?
And Endrick is so not ready for this league.

What is Zirkzee? He’s just an attacking option. So relatively speaking.. any attacking option is a replacement. You can’t tell me he was our back up striker.. he never played when the position was as available. Under Amorim he spent more time in the 10 too.

So again why would Guler not be a replacement for him?

There are two issues with Zirkzee:
1) he was a wrong profile of attacker (not sure if I'd even call him a striker) for the club
2) he is half arsed most of the time

That said, he isn't a nothing player and will do well in the right (less intense?) environment.

Both him and Hojlund seemed like such Serie A players from the very beginning.

Zirkzee was third choice behind Mbeumo and Sesko, with Rashford back probably even lower as can use one of him and Cunha up front. Therefore you can probably replace him with an attacker in general rather than a striker.

Either obligation or no deal. There's no point losing him on loan without a guaranteed sale, we're already short up top.

We won't replace him we will just use Rashford as a backup striker. We always have Cunha and Mbeumo as well if needed.
That's never been the brief, it has been that Zirzkee needs to be moved on for us to bring in another striker. Rashford needs to be moved on if we want to bring in a LW.

We've heard that from Mitten, Whitwell and other journs all summer.

He occupies that two most stacked positions in our squad - RW and AM. I mean Bruno alone wouldn’t give him a single minute as the 10. So, no.

There’s zero reason to loan him to that scavenger club without an obligation to buy, just keep him if that’s the only realistic alternative.

Juventus are an awful team, with no real direction or future. His value has more chances of going up if he was loaned to a lower table PL side, or Ajax (I don’t know why, but Zirkzee seems like the quintessential Ajax player to me for some reason), or a random club in France or the Bundesliga:
Juventus are the worst, man.
Either obligation with a decent fee or bust.

Yeah you tell em

And they were all juiced up on gear in the 90s!

People complaining about us not selling. It's our fault for buying crap no one else wants

No idea what attacker we'd replace him with. Not that he's good, but we aren't linked to anybody (doesn't mean much of course).

Predictable flop though. Remember saying loads of times he was an incredibly underwhelming target and showing up really bad in the data, but people kept pointing to being the young player of the year or whatever.. turns out if you look pretty average in the data in that league, it's probably because you are pretty average.

Surely Jimbo needs to look at our negotiating team that handle player sales. They’re doing a very bad job getting good money for our players. These stupid loans always end up with the players coming back.

Maybe get the Chelsea negotiating team in instead.

We've already bought a LW in Thompson. I don't think we'd dip back into the LW market even if we sold Rashford.

Has to be an obligation to buy, and a real one this time - none of those Sancho shenanigans again ..

I know the transfer has been a flop but on the face of it, I'm still fine with the punt taken. Young player of the year on a 'Cheap' buyout. It was worth a go.

He was just never suited to the pace of the league, and I suppose one of our very well paid experts should have seen that coming. Either way, we should be able to get most, if not all of that money back. He's still a very good player in a slow league like Serie A.

We won't replace him we will just use Rashford as a backup striker. We always have Cunha and Mbeumo as well if needed.

And Dorgu (and maybe even Thompson) can play on the left as well allowing Cuhna/Mbeumo to play somewhere else along the front line if needed.

Dont see us signing anyone else up front

You could be right, depends on how he adapts and whether he has a Aden Heaven like progression into the first team.

Guess it means a natural (pl proven?) striker is coming in. Honestly no idea who would make sense.
We have seen links to Tresoldi and Fernandez-Pardo so maybe they are taking a chance on a young pup again.
I like that we are looking at building a team with younger players with their best years ahead of them but it just feels like that striker position is difficult to master in the prem, it takes time to figure it out. A more established proven option could be better, but maybe more expensive.

it will most likely be an obligation to buy tied to team achievement like reaching UCL, same with Hojlund, hopefully the obligation is high enough so the club can recoup some money
