27-year old defensive midfielder Julia Zigiotti Olme is our first summer signing. She used to play for Brighton before signing for Bayern in 2024.

I know she started a couple of Sweden's games at the Euros this month and that she played for Brighton so I know I've seen her in action - but I'd love to hear from someone with a better memory for other teams players than I have 
I'm not sure what this means in terms of our starting lineup or our formation, but it's good to see some activity.

I'm Swedish but can't say I've watched her too much outside of the Swedish national team but I was very impressed with her in the Euros this year and also earlier NT games the last couple of years. One of best players as of late. In the NT she doesn't have too much offensive responsibility but I have a feeling there's potential to use her passing ability more than when she's playing for Sweden.
If the rest of our team had the same mentality England wouldn't be champions of Europe now, no way we'd have dropped that 2-0 lead...

She’s not one of the Swede’s I’ve noticed much, without that saying too much.
One positive thing is that she’s already got a couple of friends in the squad in MLT & Terland. Sandberg too of course.

I can’t comment on her quality either but it’s interesting that Matt Johnson specifically calls her a defensive midfielder. I wonder if that means that Dom will play more at CB this season, with Mannion gone. There’s also Awujo who I’m hoping will get more game time this season, and Naalsund as well. We do have a lot of options in midfield, but we do need to strengthen in other areas of the pitch as well, mainly the front 3 so I hope there’s more to follow.

Now I want to see upgrades... I love Millie and Leah completely (and their names are going on my shirts this year) but we need to upgrade the starting 11 and move the existing starters to depth spot.

I don't really know Zigiotti but positionally it is a good signing, giving greater flexibility to the squad. I felt that striker and centre-back were the positions we needed to reinforce, but as has been pointed out, this allows Janssen to play in her strongest position.
We just need Skinner to be more flexible with his team selections and substitutions.

Think LW & RB are also positions we need more depth and competition in.
You are right about RB now Mannion has gone. LW would be good, but Malard can play there.
She can, but I’d like us to sign at least one winger who could play on both sides. Malard won’t replace Galton in the starting XI, we need someone who can challenge her.
I definitely agree that LW should be our top priority for strengthening. For RB, maybe a returning Blundell will rotate with Riviere for that role? I believe she’s more natural on the right than the left and has played more games at RB in her career, even though she’s only played LB for us.
It may have been fan rumours rather than anything of actual substance, but before the Euros there was a little bit of talk about Beth Mead wanted to move to Manchester to be closer to Miedema. Not sure Mead would replace Galton either, but she is at least comparable I'd have thought.
Played 3 of the 4 Sweden games in CM next to Angledahl. Didnt start vs Germany but came on as sub.
Made 5 tackles, 1 interception against England and also got an assist. Sweden's best CM in that game
So all in all happy for her to join. She's 160 cm, so same size as Hinata. Hopefully they'll make a good combination in midfield anyway
