Signing him will be a gamble at this point. City would waste his career by playing him as a backup for haaland or kane.

He should play at some mid tier clubs before going for a big move.

If he does sign for City, let's hope he turns out to be a Marlos Moreno - who looked a much better talent than Alvarez but is now 25 and on loan in Belgium, having never made an appearance for City.

If he is City bound then we should look after Ezequiel Barco who looks to be even better. Just moving to River Plate, but could be a perfect replacement for Ronaldo/Cavani in the future. The guy can be the next big thing.

Barco was supposed to be the next big thing when he moved to the MLS years ago and hasnt lived up to the billing, thats why Atlanta United are letting him go to River so they can sign Thiago Alamada from Velez, another of Argentinas 'next big things' ...Apart from not being that good, he's not a striker, he will never be a perfect replacement for Cavani or Ronaldo.

All othder clubs ahead ofus in League table are strengthening and we do nothing. Not a chance of 4th place if we don't bring in a midfielder.

I think we got 15mil for Smalling (Premier League proven plus full international) and we would be lucky to get 5mil for Andreas.
Not as easy for us it seems.
We got £20m for Smalling didn't we? As a 30yo with injuries.

We'll definitely get more than £5m for Andreas too, but he's a strange case because he's a 25yo footballer who has never had a run of games in any team.

€15mil with add ons and I will bet money we will not get £5mil for Andreas, he will be loaned out and eventually leave on a free.

Hope, We Lose
This is the next Aguero, sure?
Not sure about that, high bar.

But he'll replace Ferran Torres who was rotated into the team and could finish and score goals. He's absolutely able to do that and probably able to play off the wide roles too with his speed, dribbling and he can play in a teammate as well as score

Journo’s saying that all these links to big clubs are coming from his agent, not any of the clubs so it looks like his agent is trying to force something rather than anyone actually being interested.

According to Hirst, United were offered the chance to sign Alvarez but they declined. Which is understandable when we don't know who the next head coach is going to be, and the player is young and sill needs to acclimatise to very different surroundings to the once he's used to in Argentina.

Our scouts are shit, citys are class. Knowing nothing about him its easy to conclude he would turn shit here, and class at City. Its just the way it is.

We’d signing and if he wasn’t scoring a goal every other game, the fan base would be moaning we only signed him cause City wanted him. You just can’t win with some people….

City also have a gap in that position in their squad, when we are over stocked.

Every considered the amount of players City signed that didnt turn out. They have one in prison at the moment and another goalkeeper that they paid a lot for that lasted a season. There’s plenty more…….

We'll see. Sterling could still decide to leave and City also have Kayky and Palmer. Torres hardly played there so don't think this guy will replace him when Mahrez and Bernardo already took his minutes.

I find it quite ironic that out of all the players we've pinched of City in recent years the one we decide against is the one we should've pinched.

Mark my words.

But not when Cavani, Ronaldo and probably Martial leave, amongst others in an AM sense like Mata and Lingard
