You know those threads about promising young players which end up getting bumped every six months until the player signs for a big club a couple of years later? I've always wanted to start one.

So, ahem:

Cracking player. He's quick, seems to have great feet and can beat a man with ease. Probably the only decent thing in a Blackburn shirt so far this season. He'll turn into a very good player IMO.

I'll probably delete this if he turns out to be shit but otherwise, bump away, gimps.

I have no fecking clue what that means Chris, but I assume you agree.

Fair play mate, you clearly know your football.

Yeah, he's always seemed like a good player whenever I've watched Blackburn. They'll go down this season and he'll be signed by Spurs*, probably.

*if he can convince 'Arry that he's a central midfielder. Which shouldn't be a problem, I mean Peter Crouch convinced him he was an actual footballer and all.

I'll get out of Cutchs' Gutierrez thread! Impressed with him, he will surely find his way moving up the ladder soon.

Cracking goal against Norwich. He's turning into one of my favourite players to watch in the Premier League.

Update:

So in the eight and a half years since I made this thread, our hero has enjoyed loan spells at Panderborn and St Pauli before going on to provide eight years of service to Championship stalwarts Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City.

I have a "weird feeling" that these teams have made it to a play-off in each of those eight seasons, although it took a google search to confirm that they are not, in fact, the same club. As far as I know he has never been seen in the Premier League in that time.

In March 2012, he told reporters that he would play international football for England "if possible". However, in a snub on par with the times England missed out on Victor Anichebe and Brad Smith, he chose to play for Canada instead. His relatively paltry tally of 25 caps since 2015 suggests there's been lots of times when he hasn't been deemed good enough to play for the sixth best team in CONCACAF.

So all in all, I probably should have deleted this, as I originally claimed, but I just thought I'd bump it instead in case any of you were thinking to yourselves, "Say, what ever happened to Junior Hoillet". Which, admittedly, was probably none of you.

He's had 3 Premier League seasons.

Two with QPR, one with Cardiff.

Didn't bang in the goals.

He played in the premier league just last season. He was also never eligible for England.

He also played for the same youth club as yours truly.

He might have qualified for England due to time spent there, he went in 2003 to Blackburn and wasn't capped by Canada until 2015, that's 12 yrs. Isn't it 5 yrs living in another country to be eligible

It is 5 years of schooling under the home nations agreement which he failed because he went to Germany.

I really thought he was a talent at Blackburn. Reminded me lots of Ashley Young in his style.

QPR was completely the wrong move. Guess like so many who moved there on huge wages he lost a bit of hunger and drive. I remember at the time Spurs and some decent Bundesliga clubs were linked to him.

He would probably have more goal and assists than Lingard if he played the same amount of games for us.

So weird you posting this, because I was just then wondering, I wonder what Melbourne Red is thinking?
