The whole Pa Kent thing was bloody weird. But that aside, I dont get the few posters above problem with it. Still think it's great. Baller soundtrack too.
I thought it was kinda okay other than that scene although Ive never liked amy adams and didnt like her as lois. And I saw the movie mostly as just "superhero action", which I like a lot less than superhero stories which make me think or feel something

Well I never watched the original film. Only watched from DCU BvS and Wonder Woman. Can be a good chance then.

Surely the best thing about Superman films was Christopher Reeve playing both Clark Kent and Superman perfectly .

Brandon Routh did a decent job of both Kent and superman whereas Cavill failed at being Kent and the films he made largely ignored the character and as a result they sucked

I'm not sure why so many people are so convinced that a pretty rubbish director who has already directed two rubbish installments in the DC Universe will ensure that a rubbish film becomes a brilliant one.
This. Those films were trash and he's not some genius level director, how the feck is this going to suddenly be good?

Funny thing is, watch the placebo effect come in to play. People will suddenly redeem this mess purely because they've bought into this magical belief that he was wrong done by and their hard work getting it restored has paid off. Nothing, of course, to do with a PR stunt during the current situation to make money...

I don't know why people keep saying Snyder is rubbish, Watchmen was brilliant, you can't "fluke" a brilliant movie if you are rubbish.

Also, I know it is popular to shit on recent Snyder DC movies but directors cut BvS was pretty decent compared.

BvS directors cut was marginally better only because it fleshed out certain things slightly more. It's the hallmark of bad direction when it requires three hours and three minutes to make a story seem coherent.

Watchmen, also wasn't brilliant, as evidenced by the critical scores. Even the user scores are not superb by any stretch.

Truth like rain don't give a feck who it falls on.
First half of Man of Steel was excellent but the second half was a total bore fest of people hitting each other and was like watching a computer game. It's still much better than the utter shite that came after though.
To be fair it's not like two super powered beings in a human city were going to sit down and play chess.

To each it's own, Watchmen was great for lots of fans of the source and is beloved by many. And gone are the times where "critics" scores were worth something, I couldn't give a rats ass about what critics think to be honest.

So I just heard about this Snyder cut thing that apparently fans have been begging for years and is now happening. I didn't even know Snyder was supposed to be a good director. Didn't he direct the average Superman films?

300 and Watchmen seem to be his claim to fame. 300 was very good tbf. Just never knew he was heralded as some greater director due to 1 film.

Watchmen the film just lifts the panels from the vastly superior comic book while missing everything that made the comic book good in the first place.

The main villain will still be boring and only talk when he's in the middle of smashing stuff up so you don't really care much about what he says either way. Unless they make Superman turn out to be Batman wearing glasses I don't see the point in really going through the pain of watching this again.

Sure, it'll have less jokes in it but what's it being replaced with? More exposition? There was enough to fill a boat in the original film and all of it was pointless. The bad guy wants to destroy the world, but he also thinks he's helping humanity by doing it, and his power is absolute, people have tried to stop him before and failed, all the evil villain tropes with none of the relatable characteristics of a villain behind it. Pretty much every single DCU villain in a nutshell and exactly the reason why these films are a slog to watch.

In fairness, it's not as if he crafted an original story, though. He took one of the most interesting Persian/Peloponnesian historical stories and turned it into a movie. If you can't knock that premise of a movie out the park then you're utterly hopeless.

I remember this section being a flashback of Steppenwolf, and also I believe Snyder himself has claimed that, at this point, Darkseid is, “Just a baby.”

I`d like to see his vision fulfilled, but I do beleive this will be nail in the coffin of Snyder in the DCU.

Altough i like Man of Steel a lot, even if it was far from a perfect movie, BvS was terrible. The director's cut was better but nowhere near enough to save it. There were fundamental flaws in the script and I`m pretty sure we will see those again.

Not holding my breath, but would love to be proven wrong.

I want this to be good. Really good as these characters deserve a good movie and the DCUE has been nothing but a disappointment with some good moments and fun movies for lesser characters

I'm sceptical after his previous movies though.

Dawn of the Dead was a very good remake to be fair.

Actually doesn’t look too bad. Wonder if Sky Atlantic will get the rights in the UK?

I enjoyed Justice League. It was a comic book Movie for Christ’s sake not Godfather part 2! People need perspective.

I think that this will be really good.

This will be shocking, right?
I dunno, I mean he's basically got to watch the original movie, and then allowed to reshoot pretty much a whole new movie and change whatever didn't work for the most part (granted the over arching story will probably have to stay the same)

If he gets it wrong at this point he'd be a moron.

I thought it was the original before the reshoots by wheden? So basically what we would have got before the interference.

I mean if BvS is anything to go by it won't be a masterpiece. But it will be his vision. But his vision seems to be doing pieces that make for killer trailers but not great movies? Dunno

There's no way he shot 4 hours worth of footage right? I thought this was basically all his original stuff edited back in plus a whole bunch of new stuff... Didn't they do reshoots?

Granted I may be totally wrong about this.

I think Snyder is a pretty crap director, but he's been given an opportunity here that basically nobody has got before and they've put a lot behind, so can't see it going too badly.

I think he did  and wheden was brought in to lighten it up and cut it down?

I may be wrong but that's how I remember it

It's basically his cut that's the original?

The reshoots were for Whedon, there’s no way they could’ve shot more for this version given the fact that both Affleck and Cavill were done with the franchise.

Yeah, no reshoots for this Snyder cut version. I think Snyder said only 25% of the movie he shot was in the theatrical cut, everything else were Whedon reshoots.

This looks a lot better. It was mean't to be dark, even The Flash seems a lot more bearable without that forced humor and that line at the end. Pure Batman.

Snyder also said he haed Superman saying 'do you bleed' to Batman cos it didnt make sense.
Even though it did in the context of BvS which is what Snyder added, even though it made as much sense if not less but made for a cool line for the trailer.

How does he still whine so much when he's got what he wanted? The guy resolved Batman v Superman with a naming coincidence.
