Keith Andrews

Also thought it was funny when Igor is trying to tell him something but was so out of breath and Andrews just talked over him and gave him a pat.

He does seem like he has something about him though.

Seems like a nice chap and I wish him well but he feels a bit like he's trying too hard to show the players how relaxed he is. I imagine the cameras don't help and it was really silly of Brentford to allow this much access so early for an inexperienced manager.

Brentford don't really have any big names so hopefully for him no issues with egos.
Surely he's the same as he was before with them? Would be super weird if he got appointed manager and changed how he treats them - I guess the difference is previously if they found him annoying (he was a bit much for me in terms of trying to be pally/doing headlocks etc. so I could see how that might be the case) there's no Frank sailing the ship, they'll either run for the new boss or he'll be gone pronto.

Aside from the promoted clubs, I think they are favourites to go down - would be confirmed if Wissa was sold.

GK, captain, manager, best player/ striker all gone. No significant replacements. Think they are in serious trouble.

I'm sure he's generally the same person of course but I've experienced being in roles where I was more of a peer then being promoted to the person leading teams. It definitely makes you feel like you need to tweak your interactions and can take a little bit of working out.

He just has an additional level of seniority that he will need to settle into.

I want Andrew’s to do well so I can see Keane’s reaction on sky when they comment on how good a job he is doing

Has a hell of a job on his hands. Looking at their squad there, and it's really lacking quality.

Not sure what they expect really - he is being setup to fail surely

He’s had a massive hospital pass. Looks pretty certain Wissa will be off.

You get clubs that are really well run, but every ally they are plundered of all their talent - and they sink. Happened to Southampton a few years ago, now Brentford.

I didn't know there was beef between Andrews and Keane, but here is where it started:

And now Keane is using the opportunity to heap pressure on him in the media "huge opportunity for him" he said 3-4 times before their match against Forest. And like him, I'd do the same. Hold a grudge

Wow, Martin O'Neill too:

If O'Neill and Keane are both against him, he must be a twat. That's my compass anyway.

Surprising choice. Not a fan of clubs appointing managers, who were previously coaches under the previous regime. I know it worked out well with Thomas Frank, but more often than not it always ends in disaster. Plus he was the set-piece coach, which makes it even more surprising.

Risky appointment, and with Mbeumo going, it could be a relegation battle if it doesn’t pay off.

Yeah. When they appointed Frank, they were in Championship and he threw his first season away, still. Also he had at least managed some club before that, albeit in Demnark, Keith has not been a manager of any club, ever.

Big gamble.

Had the cheek to be pissing and moaning about how much time Tiago had to wait to take his penalty. It was alright when he was making subs to delay it. Nice bit of karma for him today.

Yeah, just mentioned this in the other thread. Stunning lack of self-awareness.

He's doing a very good job, plays to the strengths of that squad and has less at his disposal than Frank did.

Absolute insanity that a section of Brentford fans online wanted him out a few weeks ago. I won't pretend to know more than they do about their club, but football is in a dark place when a rough month of results wipes out any amount of goodwill even at a club aiming for a midtable finish.
