He has been training and was mooted by Amorim to come back for this game.Shocker. He's now suddenly available again
Yeah I was thinking that, but night and day compared to him and Ugarte on the ball.Smooth on the ball but his lack of urgency is ridiculous. Pissed me off to no end in those last 15.
His passing is about as expansive as Ugarte but what he lacks for in mobility and shin kicking he makes up for with control in tight spaces
Should play ahead him

What were you watching? It was a pretty terrible half hourMainoo is comfortably our best midfielder on the ball. He's far better than either Ugarte or Casemiro at that. In the final 20 minutes of the game he played three or four passes under pressure that broke the Burnley press around him and got us on the front foot in midfield.
I'd play him every week.

Was rusty today a bit.
A training cone would have been better than Case today. More excuses for MainooSome people just can’t get past their agenda driven nonsense. He was absolutely fine after an injury and very little football all season. An improvement on Casemiro’s cameo easily.
He played as a 10 before and was hopeless. His passing is nowhere near good enough to play in midfield. In tight spaces in and around the oppsition box is where he shines and he should be playing further up the pitch than he did today.
The one where looked calm on the ball when under pressure and played through the press. What were you watching? It was a pretty terrible half hour
Excuse for what and for who? He’s obviously going to get much more minutes with whoever manages us next, because there’s not many options and nobody can be as stubborn as Amorim.A training cone would have been better than Case today. More excuses for Mainoo
Surprised to see all the positive posts in here - quite the contrast to the other Mainoo thread
I thought he had a very bad cameo. Threw the ball away carelessly a couple of times and that awful shot from 40 yards out just doesn't do anything good - cost us a potential attack, 45 valuable seconds and just doesn't reflect well on him.
It really is some weird behaviour from some of our 'fans'.Jesus Christ some of you!
He's been injured and hardly played all season and you expect him to be amazing straight away![]()
Yeah, of course he should have a fair run of games, but it's been a general problem after the Euros 18 months ago. He's been plagued by injuries and Amorim, but whenever he's finally got a chance, he's not taken it. One of those players that gets better the less he plays.Like yeah. I mean I am not going to judge him for today. Has not played for a while, coming back from injury etc, but he was really bad. Shocked about how well he is received.
he has always been like that but romance goggles doesn’t helpYeah this guy is gonna make his way back, far from the complete midfielder but he oozes football and is so strong. Very difficult to get the ball of him.
He was absolutely fine tonight- not sure what people are expecting. Gave the ball away a few times but overall did okay. Feeling his was back tooHe has been bad this season off the bench, never really shown Amorim why he should start.
Today was just a continuation of that.
What we generally lack is mobility and muscles, not control in tight spaces.
