Kobbie Mainoo

Unfortunately he needs patience. Once Ruben is sacked, hopefully they'll bring in a manager that knows what he's doing.

Amorim is just a head coach in this setup so it may be not necessarily just him keeping Mainoo from playing.

If he’s playing up asking for a ridiculous wage on a new contract then that’s fine. We don’t need a player out on the pitch who’s currently being a pain in the ass off it. Last thing we need is another one of our academy kids on a juicy new contract only to then phone it in at best performance wise and then we’re stuck trying to sell him.
Yes, every player that's being sidelined apparently has an attitude/wage issue. Hmm.

I'm not going to pretend that he hasn't had a mixed bag of performances and we are still not sure where his best position is. He obviously has endurance issues with being gassed frequently around 60mins when he starts. He doesn't have great pace. And we've not seen evidence of long range passes being good enough to be the hope for centre of midfield.

However, either he stays and plays sufficient minutes to keep developing or he needs a loan where he plays IMV. And with Ruben saying he is fighting with Bruno for minutes, when Bruno is playing dogshit football, why isn't he pressed about the untouchability of Bruno?

He needs to go to a team and a manager that will appreciate him
That could happen without moving though. He also needs to work harder tbf. His fitness levels aren’t good enough to be a regular starter even if the performances warranted it.

I think some managers use fitness levels as excuses though. On one hand they will play certain players saying they need mins to get up to speed then ignore other players saying they aren't sharp enough to play the same mins.

I can't understand Mainoo not getting a run honestly. Casemiro shouldn't be our duo with in the middle at this point. Honestly I'd like a run with Ugarte and Mainoo in the midfield and consider Bruno as a forward 3 in rotation with the 4 or 5 attackers we are going to attempt to find rythm with this season.

Amorim’s excuse for not using Mainoo when we were chasing a goal against Arsenal was that his competition is Bruno, and Ugarte and Casemiro play in a whole different position. He then played Mount, who is undoubtedly more attack-minded than Kobbie, in a double pivot with Bruno today when chasing the game. It’s nothing short of hideous nonsense which most of our managers have been guilty of when on the verge of the sack.

Amorim is a lovely man. I know this first-hand witnessing his exemplary behaviour in Malaysia with fans and journalists when he probably didn’t want to be there after a long, tiring and unproductive season. However, as much as I don’t want to say it, I feel the writing is on the wall for him, and if/when it happens, he can’t have any complaints.

I refuse to believe he can do worse than what I saw from the starting pairing today, and I refuse to believe he would complement one of those two worse than what it looks like when they play together.

Not a lot of minutes for him then while Amorim is in charge.

Shite like this makes me think this manager isn’t the right guy. I don’t mean let the young players away with everything and I know this new team will spring into some kind of form but we are still so weak and unsure. Bournemouth or Brighton would smash into us next wknd if that was the next game. Look at the likes of Iwobi vs Casemiro today ffs.

We’ve missed out on too many top players and staff at crucial times, That was Fergie’s real skill, he could see who was about to break through and mould it and protect it. we were the big fish and we kept pressing it so much harder than these days. We let half the ducking league pass us out

There’s scarier doping, social media and mental health and players own brands and entourages. Even Fergie would have struggled these days for sure but any club when you stop being on the cutting edge then you’re in the wilderness. There are players like Alcantara Fabregas or Vidal if we’d got them at that stage who knows but we were always going nowhere really in general.

Who’s gonna be the next genius at Utd? Bruno is the best player since Pogba and before that? Older Rooney? its been boring around here for too long

He’s obviously a better CM than Bruno and Mount but Amorim doesn’t seem to value midfield play and thinks his attackers can get the job done there. Not only are we shooting ourselves in the foot by awkwardly slotting Bruno there, were also killing the development of our most talented academy product.

Not a lot of minutes for him then while Amorim is in charge.

So either he leaves or waits for Amorim to get sacked. All because we are obsessed with shoehorning Bruno who is a poor CM but must play no matter what.

Needs to leave cos won't get his share of chances under this moron of a manager.

I won’t blame him if he wants to leave. Amorim system and his management just limits Mainoo game time for no gain. However, I am now skeptical about INEOS and their vision. They can’t be serious about all in with Amorim, no? As if they’re certain he would turn it around and be a roaring success with a two man midfield made up of Bruno, Casemiro, Mount, Ugarte.

Amorim clearly doesn't think he has the physical capabilities to play in his team. Shame really because he's a talented lad but I don't think he can play in this system. Surely it's too late in the window now to sell and replace him?!

I think i'd much rather move Bruno on at the moment if we are to persist with this formation.

Hope we loan him out to a club that are known for developing youngsters. By the time he returns we'll hopefully have someone in charge who values having a functional midfield

Surely this would only be a loan. No chance he goes permanently until Amorim really proves himself IMO.

I actually think if we can get another CM in then it’s not the worst idea to get Kobbie a loan and some space to develop, as he’s just stagnating as is.

If we can spend the money before the window is closed, I wouldn't mind selling him.

Amorim goes before Mainoo, if the club sell Kobie and sack Amorim in a month there would be uproar.

This guys destroying our club and it's being allowed to just happen in front of our eyes!!!
