Kolo Muani | Loaned to Spurs

Didn't people want us to spend £70m him a few years ago?

Loan with an option to buy would be good.

Where's the source? And he hasn't done much since leaving Frankfurt, PSG would also pull our pants down again like they did with Ugarte.

No thanks.

He had a decent season on loan at Juve last season, think he scored 8 in 16.

Not sure how much PSG want for him but they likely want to move one of him or Ramos on. Wouldn't sign outright though, maybe a loan with an option. That would probably mean waiting until near the end of this window though

This is the only logical signing this window. Get him on loan with an option to buy and use whatever money we’ve got left to focus on the midfield. We can address the striker problem next season .

Juve wanted to keep him but couldn't come to an agreement with PSG (PSG wanted €50m). He turns 27 in December and his best ever season remains the 15 goals he scored at Eintracht. For context, that's fewer goals than the likes of Watkins, Wissa, Schick, or Moise Kean scored this season, so United might reasonably feel that they would be better off committing their limited funds elsewhere if goals is what they need.

I think he's a good option. I"d have a slight preference for Watkins, but either would be better than Hojlund.

Yeah he would very much be low down on my list. He's never really struck me as a proper #9 anyway. More of a player who drops and drifts, a bit like Jackson.

If we were going to get anyone from Italy then I guess I'd prefer Kean, but probably not at the price they've set his release clause

Pretty sure he got 5 in his first 3 and then had a fairly long drought, ok as a loan option but would not be remotely interested in anything else.

You can't really turn your nose up at a loan when we're this desperate.

50 million though, obviously not.

Whenever I've watched him play, which admittedly is not that often, he seems like he's put his boots on the wrong way round. Such a cumbersome player. United would be scraping the underside of the bottom of the barrel bringing him in. Juve apparently wanted to keep him, yet Juve apparently also want Sancho. Says it all really.

Approaching 30 and his best tally is 15 goals in a weak league that Sancho thrived in. That's less than a certain fella that's just been punted off to Barca, and less than about 10 players in the PL got last season alone, some of whom should be nowhere near a top club and likely never will be.

Kolo Muani is 26 years of age he isn’t even remotely close to 30.

Approaching 30
He’s 26?

I agree with the rest of your post, though. This guy is a bit of a phenotype for a lot of strikers out there — he’s quick and runs channels well but playing the actual role of a proper no.9 doesn’t seem to be in his repertoire.

He's 26 haha, why not just say knocking on the door of 40 if you're getting that loose with it. But also yes he is underwhelming.

Juventus got him on loan so we should be able to work on same type of deal. Option to buy at end.

All other clubs do that to our players so we do same.

It's either someone like him or we end up with DCL or Vardy

The serie A is so shit that they made McT look like zidane there while lookman look like Ronaldo

I get we need a forward, I get that they are likely "better than Hojlund and Zirkzee", but that doesn't mean you just scramble around and get what you can. Surely a well thought out transfer plan doesn't go from a £30m forward in Delap to the strikers we are linked too (probably paper/agent driven).

I've never understood the fascination with Muani or why some people wanted the club to spend £80-90m when he was at Frankfurt.

We can't do loan deals like other clubs unless it's for a has-been player who nobody wants. You just know PSG will tell us to get fecked and demand £60m because they know we're desperate and stupid.

Lukaku got 2 in 3 in Serie A and won POTY. It’s not a benchmark. Kolo Muani is quite rubbish, wouldn’t go anywhere near him, even on loan. His best attributes are work rate and pressing; he’s technically dreadful.

Obviously our strikers are cack, but we don’t need to complete the trilogy with this guy.

I can never unsee the chance he had to win the World Cup at the death against Martinez. Wonder save, but still.

This is nonsense and you haven't watched him play if that's your takeaway.

They were asking for £40mil from Juventus who wants him back on loan

PSG turned their nose up at another loan to Juve so I see no reason as to why they’d agree to one from us. And anything that involves us giving them tens of millions of pounds for a striker who doesn’t score that many goals should be a non starter.

Far enough down the pecking order that a loan might be an option and he is a good player, so this might be the only option.

You have to wonder why Newcastle who are looking for two strikers and currently linked with Sesko and Wissa aren't looking at Muani....

If they are willing to loan him though it is very likely he returns to Juve. He wanted to stay and Juve wanted him, the only reason he is back with PSG at the moment is because they wanted a full sale which Juve don't have the funds for, if they change their stance Juve will be back in there quick as a rat up a drainpipe.

They might, but they are as far off the pace as we are in terms of being competitive. Maybe the fact we are being proactive and making good signings can convince him he can be part of something.

He has built relationships there and they can offer him CL football this year, I would also not count them out as title contenders in Serie A although they will not be favorites. I admire your optimism but I doubt he chooses us over them if he has the choice.
