Atleti bringing the thunder but not thinking enough. Will come back to bite them once they inevitably slow down, mark my words :(

bar that pathetic shot by Rakitic, Barca have been terrible the entire half.

This has a draw written all over it. I am actually backing Real Madrid for La Liga this season.
Real look better and also have a bigger squad. Messi can stop them, but he is not looking insanly good away from home anymore.

Good save from Ter Stagen.

Barca also had shot just go wide before that from Suarez.

We look better but we don't have a bigger squad, and they are significantly more individually talented(than any team on the world, really)

Pique off the bar now

Looks a reasonable bet. Some turnaround from pre season, thought Zidane would be sacked by Christmas after watching them go 5 0 down in 45 minutes v Atletico.

Turns out pre season don't mean jack

They just have too much talent. Between Ter Stegen in goal and their platoon of world class attacking players who can conjure goals from outta their arses, they don't really need to play particularly well and control games

They're a bit like how we used to be, sans the mentality

Can't even foul Messi intentionally

man, Griezz is going to make me eat my words. it's incredible how much they've spent and how little they're getting from him, Cou and Dembele transfers. in current role, he could actually have worse season(s) than he ever did under Simeone.

think if Atletico scores, that's it for Barca. can't see them scoring the way they're playing.

Ray Hudson hasn't stopped drooling for three minutes straight.

This is a man who freezes time, fold it up and puts it in a can.

Can only think he gave it for the push in the back by Messi which occurred before Piqué sliding in.
Although it certainly wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't.
Anyway, it's peak Lahoz.
Same for the "return" from Vitolo on Piqué.
Any sane ref gives a 2nd yellow there.

Messi was pretty meh, but from this position it's a safe goal for him.

My commentator said, Simeone hasn't won in 19 games against Barca.

They won't win the CL unless they get extremely lucky

The league though...there is no answer for overwhelming talent

Can't miss all those chances and expect to get anything v Barca. Same old Atleti this season, utterly toothless.

Typical Barcelona last 4 years. They are a very good La Liga side, but in Europe you need something else not to get found out if you are not inspired.

I really think that Diego Simeone's time as a manager of Atletico is already up and he needs to go just like it was the case with Pochettino at Spurs. May be Poch to Atleti would be very leftfield option but also interesting..

That pass by Lemar before Messi's goal was an absolute disgrace.

harder to do it consistently over 38 weeks as oppose to crapshoot over 13 weeks
