What did he do?, can't see in highlights.Pique should have been off too. Could have been even worse if they would have to defend with 9 men for around 10 minutes.

At least Granada got 1 point and certainly Barcelona didn't deserve to get away with 3 points from this match.Pique should have been off too. Could have been even worse if they would have to defend with 9 men for around 10 minutes.

We sometimes forget how good prime Alves was. He's a super smart player with a golden foot. But he'll be totally out of he depth in high intensity games if he plays as a right back, we've seen it with PSG and it was 3 years ago.Barca getting carried by Luuk de Jong. You just love to see it
Didn't expect Alves to play well.
Hell of a player.Luka Modric off, standing ovation and applause.
Wait what, Casemiro is right there? Bigger issue in midfield would be that Modric and Kroos ain’t got the legs anymore for a high pressing game.Pity Madrid don't have a quality holding mid cause they'd be well in the hunt for a CL.
Nope, those two are fine. Casimiros issue is he can't play under pressure and that's exactly how the other top teams in world football play.Wait what, Casemiro is right there? Bigger issue in midfield would be that Modric and Kroos ain’t got the legs anymore for a high pressing game.
An even bigger issue are the backs. Mendy is okayish defensively but not good going forward. Carvajal is injured all the time and not his old self.
No good option on RW either. I’d say all those positions are more of a problem than the midfield. Sitting deep you could maybe get away with the KCM midfield against top teams (we’ll see against PSG), but those other areas are just weak.
He played pretty well vs Liverpool.Nope, those two are fine. Casimiros issue is he can't play under pressure and that's exactly how the other top teams in world football play.
Yup, that's exactly what they did.Did Barca extend Umtiti for 5 years just to be able to register Torres?
Yeah though it's a pretty smart deal all in all. They spread whatever he had left of his contract over 5 years, so it shouldn't weight too much on their finances going forward even if he doesn't leave. And they get to register their expensive new signingDid Barca extend Umtiti for 5 years just to be able to register Torres?
It is pretty smart, they're not exactly spreading but close enough to make it an interesting deal, especially since it's going to make him far easier to sell this summer (Barcelona apparently told him he could leave for free according to some sources i've read).Yeah though it's a pretty smart deal all in all. I kinda agree, but in total they are certainly paying him more in these 60 months than they would have over the 18 months that were still left on his deal. Otherwise there would have been no incentive for the player.Yeah though it's a pretty smart deal all in all. Thus, Umtiti has reduced by 10% the total salary that had to enter in the year and a half of the contract that remained until 2023, in addition to accepting to include variables. And that 90% that he will receive will be divided into the four and a half years of contract that he has signed now.I kinda agree, but in total they are certainly paying him more in these 60 months than they would have over the 18 months that were still left on his deal. And yes, he is more transferable now and they would certainly not block him leaving.
Still i find it funny!
I get that he lowered his wages for the next 18 months so that you could register Torres. But your new shiny striker means you have an unlucky/often injured/useless player on the payroll for another 4.5 years. Umtiti was going to earn €24M in 18 months, now he will earn a €22M in 4.5 years. Barcelona pays a little less and in more years.I get that he lowered his wages for the next 18 months so that you could register Torres. No, they aren’t paying him a single euro more.I kinda agree, but in total they are certainly paying him more in these 60 months than they would have over the 18 months that were still left on his deal. Otherwise there would have been no incentive for the player.

your sloppy defense is going to make it easier for Atletico but it should be a good even matchThe last 6 games of Atletico in la liga are 4 loses, 1 draw and 1 win. We surely can beat them, they're even worse than us.
Garcia isn't happy about it either.Going to play the charity shield in Saudi Arabia in the middle of the season seems absolutely mental to me. They're both playing their first teams as well?
EDIT: It's a four team mini-tournament as well?

He is actually right.Garcia is starting to sound like a boomer.
Even though the Barca lineup finally looks decent again, I highly doubt it. RM are just in much better form (8 win 1 loss 1 draw in 10 games) compared to Barca (4 wins 3 loss 3 draw in 10 games)Barcelona surely wins today. They've had too many defeats against RM in a row.
I don't necessarily disagree, but he's from my generation of footballers, along with Ronaldo Rooney Messi. And he's not that much older than me, so hearing him talk like that is making me feel old.He is actually right.
