Nice to see Flick sitting down and relaxed.....

Raphinha's new hair is a work of art, too.

Villareal lead. Barca really cannot defend, whether a serious game or not.

Sevilla got very lucky staying up this year. Just had enough points on the board from March to survive.

Real mess of a squad now and presume they'll have to sell likes of Bade and Lukebakio in the summer.

Happy for Villareal. They've qualified for the Champions League next season!

Barcelona academy now surely on a tier of its own. Too many top class players produced.

Which makes it strange how many levers had to be pulled! They have produced their own best players for so long now. Really, really badly administrated to be in this position financially with the gift of that academy.

Pound for pound they must be the most successful team in main European league in last 20 odd years? Seem to be in some form of European tournament every single year. The template for likes of Brighton but far more consistent especially as this is one of the weaker squads they've had. Doing a great job now revitalising guys like Nicolas Pepe and Ayoze Perez who had tough spells in the prem.

With today's results, Athletic is now the club with least defeats in the league !!

Barca losing when winning at half time, at home. Could never be us for 40 years.

The academy is not a gift.

They didn't produce much for a decade or so.

Ajax's still up there too, but the sheer concentration of talent they've churned out over the past thirty years or so is exceptional.

Even their so-called fallow years still saw players like Thiago, Icardi, Olmo, Fati, Xavi Simons, Cucurella, Grimaldo, and Onana coming through (and often opting out) of their academy.

Some South American clubs are probably more competitive than we'd immediately assume, too. Santos's obviously had both Pele and Neymar, for instance. River's been incredibly productive, historically.

Hopefully Mbappé can be kept quite so Gyökeres stays top of the Gold boot ranking

Bullshit penalty which I initially figured was given so Modric would say goodbye with a goal

But no, it was to get Mbappé the golden shoe

Fecking hell Flo :nono:

Barcelona are cheats and operate under different rules, so I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Pellegrini has done very well to lead Betis to 5th consecutive finish in a European qualification place in La Liga, i.e. in 5 seasons out of 5 since he took charge. That's alongside the 2022 Copa del Rey win as well. I really hope he can add winning the Conference League to those achievements next Wednesday.

They struggled during the first half of this season, especially with a thin squad on the back of their departures during the summer, and with the mid-week European games as well. But Isco returning from injury, alongside Antony and Cucho arriving in January and being a big success, saw them improve considerably during the second half. In general it seems to be that their positional play, movement off the ball, ability to retain possession, and defensive steel have all improved a lot under Pellegrini.

I've always liked Betis more than Sevilla, and they clearly have one of the most passionate and vociferous fanbases in Spain. With Real Madrid and Barcelona taking up far too much of the footballing oxygen in Spain, Seville in general is a refreshing change, with it being all about Betis and Sevilla there.

Lewandowski with a lovely chipped finish to put Barca 1-0 up at Bilbao.

Was joking with some friends earlier that Lewandoswki might just score 5-6 goals today to catch up with Mbappe. He's gotten 2 within 17 mins

Winning makes is + 4 and secure the title against the unlikely event that Osasuna could get 3 points handed to them in the courtroom.
