La Liga 2025-26

xG over 6? What the feck is this game?

The ease with which Barca were getting behind Elche’s backline in that second half was almost as comical as their finishing.

Home to Rayo and Madrid essentially spent the entire last 20 minutes trying to dive to win a penalty and then got one in the 100th minute

Its sad how poor la liga is. They really missed a fantastic opportunity to develop the league into one of the best watched leagues in the world. After the top 3 teams their is nothing. A league thats so lopsided makes it a boring one to watch. Hence they are light-years behind the pl. If you dont have the viewers you dont get the top dollar for the rights to the games.

There's not much within the top 3 teams either.

It's sad because it was so much better in the past.

First time I've seen Betis play in a few years. Can't cope with Atletico's counters but very impressed how they've redeveloped their ground, reminds me of the Velodrome in Marseille.

They'll be a tricky team to play in the Europa league in the knockouts.

Betis turn around the Copa Del Rey thrashing to now win 1-0 at Atletico Madrid!

Fun game coming up aswell now. Valencia at Mestella always give Real Madrid endless trouble most seasons. Real Madrid won late last season in this fixture....so then decided to lose to Valencia at the Bernabeu.

Valencia 0 Madrid 2, FT.

Mbappe had a very bad game but still scored. 38 goals in all competitions.

Trent got back from injury and played very few minutes but all he did he did (very) well.

Valencia are looking quite bad if you ask me. 17th position and only one point ahead of Rayo with one more game played.

Valencia have been circling the drain for a while now. It might not be this season (I hope it is for Rayo's sake) but sooner rather than later they'll be off to the segunda

Valencia need a new owner. That club is doomed at the moment

Same for Sevilla. Levante won a few games lately so not impossible both could get relegated this season which would be sad to see given the levels for both in the 2000s.

4-0 at half time. What the hell

If it takes 8 minuted for VAR you know something is wrong. I thought it was good
At some point common sense should come into play and literal half inches shouldn't be penalised. Are one the other day pissed me off, Cas was probably a pubes length off ffs. Surely the rule shouldn't be that literal and when it takes 8 mins to figure out it's a even a bigger kick in the balls.

VAR gets worse every year and something needs to be done. I don't have the answers but surely someone has a solution to help because VAR is now a talking point almost every game.

Not a Laliga match but Atletico are Smashing Barca.

Barca got destroyed down that left hand side first half. Atletico Madrid could've scored 6-7 from moves down that side very easily.

I think it was mentioned on here a few months back that the high line is a liability for Barca at the business end of cup competitions. Far too easy for Atletico Madrid tonight.

Barca have two of their most important players out injured again (Pedri, Raphinha), who are vital to making the system work. Not even Rashford was available, who probably wouldn't have made much of a difference defensively, but might have helpes out with a goal or assist.

Atletico believed their own hype after the cup game vs Barca and lost 3-0 to relegation candidate Rayo, having changed 9 players in the starting line up. To be fair, the cup is a much more promising route to a title for Atletico.

Champions league match on wednesday

They have a UCL match on Wednesday and one leg in the Copa Del Rey Final.

They’re not in any major risk of missing out on UCL football next season so makes sense why Cholo rotated heavily. You’d still expect Atletico to be able to pull out a draw, still.

Copa Del Rey win and as a deep a run in UCL as possible while consolidating the top 4. That’s the goal for them

How this Barca team allows anyone other than Raphinha to take penalties, I won't understand. Might lose their top spot today because of that rubbish Yamal penalty.

Barca finally take the lead and concede within minutes. This diabolic defense isn't going past the next round in the CL or winning Liga.

And Barca losing. They're absolutely woeful and its even more embarrassing that they'll lose Liga to such a poor Madrid side.

Far too early to say that. They still play Real at home so it's still in their own hands.

Well will make for a interesting title challenge, Barca are shite though.
They both are. Barca are slightly worse currently.

They simply cannot defend and the outscoring your opponent tactic won't keep working two league seasons in a row. Unless they find a way to keep Pedri and Raphina fit, I can't see them winning La Liga. Without Joan, they'd probably be another 3-5 points adrift.
