Barcelona coach Hansi Flick said Yamal, whose father is Moroccan, is old enough to make his own decisions.
During a news conference on Tuesday, Flick was questioned about the teenager's decision to wave the flag.
“This I don’t normally like," he said. “I spoke with him. I said if he wants this, it is his decision. He is old enough. He’s 18 years old."
Flick said celebrations with fans after back-to-back titles was his priority.
“We are playing football and you can see what the people expect from us," he said. "We are playing football to make the people happy. This is for me the first thing we have to do.”
Translation I saw had “I didn’t like it” in it.
Well, it's not exactly an all out support of what Yamal's done.
He did mention that "celebrations with fans.." is his priority. But Catalans are widely seen as pro-Palestine because they see parallelism between their struggles and the Palestinians, so I doubt they will view what Yamal did there to be wrong.
I don't know what news source you are quoting, but I love how they throw in the fact that his father is Moroccan, as if that has any relevance whatsoever.
Needless to say loads of Israelis are up in arms about this, including many Barca fans. I think I saw that Barcelona's supporters branch in Israel has issued a protest to the club.

According to the video, it seems that it was really Barcelona football club who distanced themselves from the incident, while he got public support from Sanchez.
Could any Barcelona fans here comment on how it was perceived by the fans? Was there any public discourse about it or any comments by fan representatives?
I was surprised by Barcelona's comment in an environment where Spain removed itself from the Eurovision song contest and even the countries' Prime Minister publicly supported Yamal.
They likely have contracts in the regime or at least fan revenue. The business side are always likely to want to gag anything like that, even if the club community culture widely supports the actions.

Only saw the first half but I thought he was poor and looked out of his depth.
I thought he was very poor to be honest. Dominated by Nuno Mendes and on the couple of attacks where he did find space his final ball usually went right to a Portuguese shirt.
Weird game he had. He had negative impact on the team until Mendes was subbed, and then he was good - dribbling, driving the ball forward at least, but not much essence.
Mendes shut him down completely, but then he was running at the defence at will. Good player but was very selfish and exhausted at the end.
I think Spain relies on him a lot because there's nobody else breaking the tempo, and they all want ball to feet. Yamal was at least running in behind in the first half, causing some chaos in Portugal defence. Spain doesn't have any other wingers? The guy who played on the left was like 8 other outfield players - a midfielder more than an actual attacker/winger.

I’ve been hugely impressed by Yamal’s rise so far, but in a way it was quite satisfying to see him humbled. Mendes really did dominate him with relative ease. Even in the odd chance Yamal did find some space his final ball was terrible.

Guardiola has never managed Spain. He’s not reasonable for him other people set their sides up. Spains biggest issue now is the lack of Niko Williams, at the Euros they had pace and creativity from both wings, now that’s been reduced to one, and the one they did have was just bullied by Nuno Mendes.
I think rather than him failing badly, its mendes who was too good. Best lb in the world by far

Yamal did have some instances where he played a few dangerous balls in the box and Spain didn't latch onto them. Pretty sure he had 1 where he got by Nuno and played it across the box and no one gambled for it.
Haven’t really followed Barca this year and there’s no shame in getting bullied by Mendes (After all, Yamal is no Olise
