That was uncalled for from Henry. Yes, you can say he switched off for 2 goals, but it was Eriksen in that instance of play that Henry showed, that was supposed to clip Barnes down. Lindelof was never catching him. Just a bit over the top from Henry to a fellow countryman.

What a player.

Seems we have inadvertently stumbled onto a generational talent.
He’ll be off if the club don’t improve is the major issue with him. Looks captaincy material in a few years. Doesn’t shirk his responsibilities, doesn’t down tools like a lot of the team and is a very talented player.

Yeah, he’s not going anywhere. Definitely a future captain down the road imo.

He's a talent but he has tendency to switch off, not follow runs or get caught too touch tight. Obviously, there's a lot of leeway given he's so young, learning/playing in an disorganised mess and next to shite like Lindelof.

Anyways I saw this clip earlier and was thinking wtf was Henry doing:

Yoro did poorly there trying to play that line and that's fine to criticise or highlight but this bit here is downright bizarre and mean. Plenty of people have picked this up on Twitter too.

Henry criticising a young player like that is bizarre.

Henry is a complete tool. Reminds me of that performative stunt he pulled with that young player during a press conference at Monaco.

It's such a weird thing to focus on. Who tf cares where he is looking, he's probably just turned his head away out of disappointment. It seems clear to me that he's keeping half an eye on the Newcastle player on the outside and just slightly misjudged how quickly Barnes would drive into the space. It's a small error that a young player will make, but bizarre from Henry to make up this narrative that he was trying to play offside and then appealing to he linesman.

I wonder if they had some kind of beef, or he made a bad impression somehow when Henry was U21 manager.

Think he needs a world class experienced CB next to him to learn from and not Lindelof.

We need another CB for sure as Lindelof is going so I would like to see us being b savvy in this market and picking up someone who has experience

I think he'll have a great season next year. Just hope he has a stable defence around him. The chopping and changing due to injuries to himself and others mean its hard to build a partnership.

Hopefully him and Heaven can be a long-term blooming partnership.

He has deleted the tweet when he realised how much criticism he got. Absolute donkey.

Probably being a cheating bellend as usual.

Always hated him. Fake, loathsome p rick.

Goes for the idiots who think he's cool.
You can just put Location: Ireland in your profile and you don't have to type all this out.

He did nothing wrong on that particular one. He got in line to play offside if the pass was made, its on Lindelof to stick with the player closest to him and make a challenge. He doesnt. Yoro doesnt dive in and make a great involvement to bail him out, but he shouldnt have to.

As for Henry, he's obviously hoping that the linesman will give a foul for Mazraoui falling over. Or hes looking at the manager to get Lindelof off the pitch

Henry is a failed manager, and a shit pundit.

Pair of fecking clowns!

Shameless rage bait from Henry and Carragher. I expect it from the latter but I'm disappointed in Henry. He is probably someone whom Yoro looks up to as well.

Henry is lying when he says "I have never seen that before"

you can tell with the camera work what Sky were doing

Sky Sports loved that the second Henry mocked Yoro...couldn't clip it up fast enough and get it trending on socials, job done for another week lads.

State of football analysis on sky these days.

Gets caught onside too much. Should be fine with more experience and playing at rcb.

"Dats gonna be a meme ***"

So it was all scripted then Jamie?

Henry is a prize bellend arrogant dickhead and best ignored, get him back to the CBS circus with Big Meeks having bantz.

We'll have to agree to disagree there. I understand the intent but Yoro is already behind Lindelof in that sequence, so to then step up and play offside there is extremely high risk i.e not worth the gamble. He should have got closer to the ball, where he could have blocked/tackled Barnes or it would have forced Barnes to play wide; it'll allow Lindelof (in theory) to cover the second wide run and Yoro would then naturally cover the middle/penalty spot area himself. That would be the 'safe' and logical play most of the time imo as you should always address the immediate threat. I'll agree Lindelof is an absolute wet wipe and should have taken a foul or at least dived in when he knew it was too late.

Henry is just a prick here, no other words needed.

Lindelof has no reason to cover the player. If he positions himself even slightly professionally he can confront the attacker and still be able to get out to the wider man if the pass is played. Yoro isnt needed at anytime.... Unless Lindelof doesn't do any of the basics and doesnt try to confront the player with the ball in the first place - therefore there is no need to pass. Which is exactly what happens, Barnes has a free route to goal because Lindelof gave up when he got the ball.

Henry is petulant and moody, and he doesn’t hide it in front of the camera, imagine away from them!

He posted it in one of his moods and then regretted it.

We're not talking about Lindelof though, where I agree he was absolutely pathetic and should have done something. My issue is that Yoro should have seen the immediate danger of Barnes and blocked the most direct run straight to goal instead of trying to play an offside trap where he is already a yard behind the next defender. In these situations you play the percentages. It doesn't matter what Lindelof did in that situation, Yoro should never gamble in that situation whether it was the offside trap or relying/trusting on his partner to deal with the attack. Like I said before, he young and hopefully he'll learn but it wasn't a good idea from him.

Henry can feck off, he was a great player but I get bored of him cosplaying some incredible mentally infallible winner. Shrunk in every final and had to be dragged to a Champions League by Messi and Pep.

Completely agree. He talks a lot for a guy who bottled every final, big international game, and the entire opportunity to play for Barcelona, and only performed against the likes of Portsmouth and Wigan.

Hopefully Yoro takes no notice of the clown.

Why can't ex-players ever retire gracefully? That was a terrible take.

Thierry Henry labelled a 'prat' for 'lazy attack' on Man Utd teenager Leny Yoro

Can't honestly believe Henry is being called out as the duplicitous type.

Sky hiring a notorious cheat to lecture on how the game should be played.

Says it all.

Why are you 'disappointed in Henry'?

What were you expecting?

This is why I respect the likes of Schmeichel, Stam, Beckham and Ole so much. Proper legends who have retired and not felt the need to keep their names relevant by putting other people down.

Both Schmeichel and Stam are pundits for Viasat. But they are very respectful and never make stupid statements.

I've got high hopes for this guy next season. He's really grown on me. A little concerned that we're not going to have the tools at the club to help him with his development. I've got similar concerns with Amad and had the same concerns with Mainoo.

This is why I personally hate Roy Keane.

Guy is so self centred.

Crap manager who tries to stay revelant by trying punditry . Also crap at that by calling out a kid from his home country and mocking him on live tv . Absolute clown

Fair enough. I’ve got absolutely no time for a lot of the characteristics in this persona of his, like not taking pictures with fans. Just makes him look like a weirdo.

I'm completely with Thierry Henry here. Absolutely fecking disgraceful that Yoro would have the audacity to look somewhere after we conceded that goal. From now onwards, I want all of our defenders to tear their eyes straight out of their sockets once we've conceded so that they might not be caught looking in the general direction of the assistant referee. That's what Rio and Carra, some propa centre-halves with propa passion, would've done back in the good old days!
