Hopefully nothing serious. He walked off the pitch at least, maybe that's a good sign? (Trying to be positive)

Ankle again? Not sure why we are such a magnet for injury prone players. Makes me wonder if Dorgu was signed mainly because he's got good fitness record..

I'll say the same thing I said after Heaven got injured vs Leicester: we're not allowed nice things anymore, are we?
It's almost like we shouldn't have played so many starters in a meaningless game? Not sure what else is reasonable to expect.

Look at Tottenham; seems like they rested several more guys than us. If it ends up being the difference in winning Europa or not, it's a really silly decision.

I would have started Fredricson over Yoro today, for sure. However I also understand the perspective of a 13 day rest before a final potentially being too long of a wait.

Yoro, despite his tender age, is already arguably one of the best 2/3 players in the first team squad. He really needs to be fit for the final, keeping fingers crossed for the lad.

I’m praying it’s not his metatarsal again and he’ll be available for the final but the way he limped off and looked like he was in tears really isn’t a good sign. We may not see him again until next season.

I’m more pissed off we risked getting him injured in a game that we went on to lose anyways.

Light sprain hopefully. No boot suggests not metatarsal

If we rested the 11 we plan to start in 2 weeks, they would be stale as hell. It’s just football.

Heaven walked away from the Leicester game without crutches and he's still out after a month and half now.

For my own expectations, I'd assume he's going to be out for the Final.

FFS.

Every player who is starting the final needs to start at least one of the games in between (West Ham or Chelsea). I hope not many start both, but we can't just wrap the entire team up in cotton wool and not play them for two weeks.
Yep. They also need to keep some sharpness. Shit happens.

True but playing a player who's had injuries already this season in a meaningless game after playing 90 mid week seems pretty stupid no?

Sorry man but this is just hindsight 20/20 thinking

This was the obvious game to play the stronger side for - better chance of picking up points. It simply didn’t work and the injury is unfortunate

I just hope that it isn't the same injury he had during preseason. It's positive that he's walking without a protective boot but you never know.

Pretty certain he'll be missing the final given the reaction.

Why though? To bring us to the lofty heights of 14th? There's literally no reason to start him after he's just played 90 mid week. Start Lindelof today, Yoro Friday for 60 mins or whatever.

Just our luck that our best purchase in like 5 years has spent most of the season injured and gets an injury again before the final. sigh...

Hard to know. Anyone who has played will know that you can often fear the worst in the immediacy, especially ankles, but things aren't always as serious as they initially feel. Let's hope that is the case here, but naturally I fear the worst.

Looked to be crying into his shirt as he went off. Maybe he was wiping sweat though. If he was crying, then he most likely knew the severity of the injury.
Fingers crossed for him because of all the players that deserve some form of reward for the season, LY is one of them. Brilliant signing.

Was seen leaving the ground without protective boot on so most likely not a repeat of his metatarsal injury, probably ankle so best case scenario he can play after a full 10 days of rest and an injection, if we risk it.

If it’s that or lindelof, I’m saying brace yourself Lenny this might sting a bit

"We have to assess Leny in a better way tomorrow [Monday]," he told reporters.

"He felt something but I think it could be a small thing."

In a separate interview with Sky Sports, Ruben reiterated that there is no reason to fear the worse.

"He had that problem at the beginning of the season," added Amorim. "We hope it's not too serious. I don't want to say too much but maybe it's not a big deal."

Hopefully it’s not serious but if it keeps him out that’s hugely disappointing and frustrating. I feel much more confident when he’s in the side

Amorim, like most managers, is usually pretty non-committal on injuries straight after the game. The fact he said this hopefully gives some hope at least he’ll be alright for the final.

Kulusevski got injured in minute 19 for them today. It's luck sometimes. It just often happens with us that as soon as some player gets into some form, he gets some kind of injury where he misses a final, crucial game or better part of the season, while other players who are nowhere near good enough are almost always available.
  • Licha was getting into some good form, scored vs Liverpool, scored the winner v Fulham, and ACL injury.
  • Yoro looked like he had the best game for us v Bilbao, like he finally settled, injured in the next game, praying that he will not miss the final
  • Zirkzee was showing promise and patterns were starting to form upfront, and he looked like he could be of good use upfront instead of Hojlund, injured.
  • Dalot started to look like himself after he was moved to the right, injury.
  • Amad was immense against City and prior to that, injured.
  • I would even make a case for Heaven, who looked very promising, and who could've been used in some of these games, to rest players like Yoro, Mazraoui, De Ligt.
I hope Amorim realises that we need a big squad for next season, because all these injuries are hampering the team a lot.

Knew we’d get something like this. Risky before our biggest game of the season. Hope he recovers for it as we need him to make his darting runs forward

We were probably getting a glimpse of the future too, before he went off. Yoro will likely end up being the central player in the back three and would not surprise me at all if he is eventually, the United captain. All of this is a ways off though, patently. For now, lets keep our fingers crossed that he can make the final and pick up a deserved winner's medal.

He's very Van Dijk isn't he. The way he was dribbling forward reminds me of vvD when he was at Celtic.

I'd absolutely love for us to go to a back 4 with him and de Ligt at CB.

We'll definitely miss him in the final if he can't play, his recovery pace and ability to carry the ball forward to bypass the press are traits we can't replace.
