Hope he's ok
It's almost like we shouldn't have played so many starters in a meaningless game? Not sure what else is reasonable to expect.I'll say the same thing I said after Heaven got injured vs Leicester: we're not allowed nice things anymore, are we?
I would have started Fredricson over Yoro today, for sure. However I also understand the perspective of a 13 day rest before a final potentially being too long of a wait. It's almost like we shouldn't have played so many starters in a meaningless game? Not sure what else is reasonable to expect.
Look at Tottenham; seems like they rested several more guys than us. If it ends up being the difference in winning Europa or not, it's a really silly decision.
I’m more pissed off we risked getting him injured in a game that we went on to lose anyways.
Every player who is starting the final needs to start at least one of the games in between (West Ham or Chelsea). I hope not many start both, but we can't just wrap the entire team up in cotton wool and not play them for two weeks.I’m more pissed off we risked getting him injured in a game that we went on to lose anyways.
Yep. They also need to keep some sharpness. Shit happens.Every player who is starting the final needs to start at least one of the games in between (West Ham or Chelsea). I hope not many start both, but we can't just wrap the entire team up in cotton wool and not play them for two weeks.
True but playing a player who's had injuries already this season in a meaningless game after playing 90 mid week seems pretty stupid no?If we rested the 11 we plan to start in 2 weeks, they would be stale as hell. It’s just football.

Amorim’s face said it as well.Body language as he came off looked terrible, like he knew he'd miss the final.
So annoying.
Why though? To bring us to the lofty heights of 14th? There's literally no reason to start him after he's just played 90 mid week. Start Lindelof today, Yoro Friday for 60 mins or whatever.Sorry man but this is just hindsight 20/20 thinking
This was the obvious game to play the stronger side for - better chance of picking up points. It simply didn’t work and the injury is unfortunate
Pretty certain he'll be missing the final given the reaction.
He was back in training a couple of weeks ago but had a further set back.Heaven walked away from the Leicester game without crutches and he's still out after a month and half now.
For my own expectations, I'd assume he's going to be out for the Final.
FFS.
If it’s that or lindelof, I’m saying brace yourself Lenny this might sting a bitWas seen leaving the ground without protective boot on so most likely not a repeat of his metatarsal injury, probably ankle so best case scenario he can play after a full 10 days of rest and an injection, if we risk it.
I'm thinking the cover of that Blink-182 album. If it’s that or lindelof, I’m saying brace yourself Lenny this might sting a bit
Amorim, like most managers, is usually pretty non-committal on injuries straight after the game. The fact he said this hopefully gives some hope at least he’ll be alright for the final."We have to assess Leny in a better way tomorrow [Monday]," he told reporters.
"He felt something but I think it could be a small thing."
In a separate interview with Sky Sports, Ruben reiterated that there is no reason to fear the worse.
"He had that problem at the beginning of the season," added Amorim. "We hope it's not too serious. I don't want to say too much but maybe it's not a big deal."
