Why oh why was he risked playing against West Ham in a dead rubber given his injury record.

Can't see is winning the final with the defence as is.

What was the thinking behind playing him against West Ham? If anything surely space the games out. I.e give him half hour vs Chelsea. Brainless if you ask me.

Thank the Gods! Still silly playing players. I mean I know you can get injured in training but in a match your intensity goes up, impact injuries could happen. I also appreciate players needing to be conditioned but surely we can replace match conditions with HIIT seeing as every metric is counted now.

Apparently there was a bigger injury risk with Maguire. In hindsight we can say it was a bad idea but can't really blame Amorim for that. If Fredericson started again and we conceded 3 goals in the first half people would have been even angrier.

Use U21 squad or whatever. LvG would have stuck someone from under 14’s on. Not an excuse in my opinion. Also you we spawned Marcus Rashford from being injury hit.

Doubt it, I’d be fine with Eriksen, a couple who needed minutes (like Mainoo) and rest academy.

That’s not writing off the PL, it’s recognising that the WL final is a sliding doors moment for us… will drastically affect the next 1-5 years and rate of changes. Given other clubs position and planned tfrs/spending, we need to catch up very quickly.

Does he have a history of being injury prone? It's news to me, yes he had a bad injury at the start of the season but that's not evidence he's going to break down each time he steps foot on a football pitch.

Well the opinions would be split (go look at the Amass thread). But I agree, I'm still waiting for a Kukonki debut.

We shouldn’t be taking out every first team player from games two weeks before an important game. Players need match rhythm, and we need to accept that there is always some risk in every game.

Players need to get some rubustness. This idea that we should throw every league game in the last month to concentrate on the Europa league (which is what we’ve done, and led by Amorim) is not good at all in terms of our future progress.

I don't fancy our chances without him, he's our only defender who can progress the ball.

Hopefully he can make the squad for the final. Not sure he can get fit enough to start the game over next 7 days but let's see.

Yeah but Fredericson wouldn't have been starting final

I thought that guy and the muppetiers were banned from here for being absolute gowlbags?

Hopefully he is right anyway.

It doesn't make any sense to play him. If the logic about treating Dalot carefully to avoid repeat injuries, why wouldn't the same apply to a 19 year old who arrived semi-injured and has picked up two injuries, first one taking 4 months, and then another taking 3 weeks to recover from?

Based on what Amorim said, it sounded like he was 50/50. It could also be tactical where we want to keep it under wraps (in either case if he plays or doesn’t play)

For me, if he is fit, and we can start him, Maguire, Shaw with Maz at RWB and Dorgu at LWB, that’s a pretty good outcome. I would have very much preferred De Ligt over Maguire but that is not happening.

Most likely just a saving face operation but there was some shite comimg from Madrid that they pulled out of deal in fear Yoro might become injury prone in the future or such bollix.

Anyway, great news its nothing serious. Thats why I would take Leny starting in the final as a bonus. Huge one mind. Able to cover large spaces, aggresive and inteligent in the tackle, proggressing play expertly.

That said, with wingbacks most likely pinned back alongside 3CBs under initial Spurs dash of deep pressing, three narrow forwards also not a great option as an outball, my worry is Yoro (or Nesta for that matter) would struggle to find decent passing options going forwards. Gut feel is Rubén shocks everyone and goes with four at the back and quick wingers lurking behind Spurs advanced fullbacks.

Yes, two additional places with those 3 points would literally be worth 7mil quid
At the potential risk of the 60m+ of CL qualification? Just on the sheer numbers alone that's a moronic call, add to that the fact Yoro's injury record, 90mins midweek and he could quite literally gave him sunday off and played him the following Friday and gave him much needed rest.

Suspect this is correct take. But you know what mate... Its done. Cant do much about it anymore. Be glad it wasnt a bad injury.

Might be the case of 76yo goalkeeping coach, and 150kg heavy assistant coach not qualified enough to condition this squad properly at this level.

Lot of stuff to be critical about but Ruben not rotating enough/giving players days off (in hinsight) is the last thing to complain about..

Look at it this way - all of a nothing United signed Yoro and Heaven. Modern athletic front foot defenders with a quick progresive passing ability.
They are Wilcoxs kids, now Vivell is also cooking something good. Should be a decent window for United.
