I'm not sure him and Heaven will ever form a partnership, they are too similar. It's better to have one of them paired with a safe pair of hands like De Ligt.

I think playing next to Martinez or de Ligt should be good for any young player. Both of them are really vocal.

They are 19 and 20. There’s a need for rotation, and squad depth. Think they will both get enough games.

In terms of a partnership, that’s 3-4 years away. A lot can change in that time.

Man Utd 1:2 Brighton
He has been awful. He always leaves a distance between him and the attacker rather than closing down quickly. So many goals have come from stepping back!

He should step back if it doesn’t the line, but if it’s in the centre, why does he do it? He seems to do the opposite on what he should do.

He's had a really poor season. There's definitely a great player in there. Struggling at the moment like a lot of the team.

I really worry about his awareness. Half the time I don't think he has a clue what's going on around him

Regressed massively and was reason for both goals. That cross from Welbeck should've never come in for the first and easily lost Welbeck again for the second. Poor poor season from him.

I'm not giving up on him by any means, but he needs to be taken out of the firing line.

The goals are on Licha in my opinion. He was forced to cover the gaping hole Licha left behind

Are you expecting him to do the work of three players?

look where Martinez is when Gruda gets the ball - Ugarte just let's Welbeck run. If Ugarte tracks that run - the distance Yoro held is explainable. Dalot could have also come tighter quicker. It's just poor defending overall and not on Yoro

He’s been poor this season. That said, I am very happy to at least see him begin to be developed as a traditional centre half now, which he signed as (an extremely promising one at that). This is the first time he’s played in a central defensive partnership for us, which he would have expected to do every week when he joined under Ten Hag.

Should have played Heaven instead, Yoro doesnt seem up for it at the moment.

He looks like he'll become an okay player, good CB but not much more. I'm failing to see any particularly elite quality he has, be it pace, strength or aerial duels. Minutes will be severely restricted after De Ligt is back, especially now that Heaven seems to have overtaken him in the pecking order.

He's a talented young CB and like Rozay says, at least he'll finally start developing in a 4 like he always should've been.

That said, and I've felt this right from the start... Why are we spending so much on a talent like him? There is so much more that goes into CB ability than whatever individual ability. He's decent on the ball but nothing special, he's not that tall and not that strong, nor is he especially fast (not slow, just not extra rapid). He's pretty average physically, which is always going to be a bit of a problem for a CB and a limitation. So what's the point? 70m is crazy.

Hopefully he has a long career here, hopefully him and Heaven become a great pairing... But spending that much when we have so many other issues was crazy.

I think he’ll be lucky to be 4/5th best CB if a truly Elite Coach comes in like Tuchel, Ancelotti or Enrique cones in, I genuinely believe that any of those coaches will demand a £400m transfer budget and at least 7/8 players!

His lack of anticipation on the 2nd goal was quite shocking, looks like a really poor CB. Might actually do better as a DM if he were to bulk up as his passing seems solid.

He can't defend in certain situations. Give him a one-on-one and a clear obvious defensive objective and he does fine. But he doesn't anticipate hidden danger well enough. Or doesn't even try to. I'm not sure which. This season has been a disaster for him.

Yeah he's dodging actual defending at the moment.
Looking at the vids of Lidnelof it seems. It really sucks but he seems not hard and aggressive enough for top flight football. Will give him time but Heaven should play, at least he likes to defend and is better in the air, where Yoro is non existent. Quite a mismatch for Premier League if you asked me, but most of us will still hope we got our Varane including Rio.
Needs to work much harder if he wants to succeed here.

Yep because midfielders dont need anticipation. His passing is just about okay for a defender. Wouldnt even call him a ball playing CB. Imagine he'd be pushed up into midfield where he's got 10x less time. We all know this would not work.

Abysmal again. I don't want to lose faith in his talent but what a shocker of a second season he is having.

I worry that we don't have the right coaching staff to help him develop. That goes for all of our young players. We're not that club where young players learn how to be world class anymore.

When we signed him I said he was too young and got roundly criticised for doing so.

It's not a dig at him personally. He's just 4 or 5 years away from being ready. That's the reality for CB's.

We shouldn't be going near one under 24.

I'm unsure what he's actually good at. Initially, I thought he was an athletic kind of all-action CB but he seems quite unimpressive physically most of the time. He gets beaten for pace often, loses duels, is easy to get separation from. I guess his passing is decent and he's young but still...

You'd be forgiven for thinking he was released from Barnsley in the summer the way he has performed this season.

Decided not to defend the crosser for the first and not to defend the shooter for the second.

Needs some serious coaching, sady I don't think he's going to get it.

Well, the lad is 20. He needs to hit the gym because physically he's just not there at all. Rio coped back in the day and he will too given time, but its hard for everyone when you're playing in such a shit team.

Same for midfielders.
We all rave about young players but are hardly willing to wait until they mature

Simple run on the blind side of the CB and Danny was in acres of space. Dorgu had one guy and the CB should have tracked his guy. Yoro is having a stinker of a season.

We can't wait at United. There's too much pressure.

I fact no team has that many players under 22.

There isn't time to wait for Dorgu, Yoro, Heaven, Mainoo, Sesko, maybe Lacey, to all hit their prime.

Yoro actually did brilliantly last season. He exceeded expectations. But a reality was bound to hit. He's just too young to be relied on. Same will happen with Heaven.

He doesn't look anywhere near the worldclass potential we thought we were getting. If anything he has not only not improved from last season but regressed.

I know he's a young player but the promising signs aren't there. He looks lost.

Yoro was ball watching.

Chelsea?

Yep maybe.

And we can see how that's going even with a CM pairing worth over £200 million.

CB, CM and the number 9. You need players in or around their prime.

Unless they're truly special young players.

At least one of Yoro or Heaven needs to go on loan. We can't carry two young CB's.
