The project is moving forward though, and I think it's moving at a decent pace. Investing in a lot of young elite talent that might be coming through over the next few years, but it's also clear for everyone to see we're investing a bit wiser than before with Cunha & Mbeumo - Sesko more of a risk but I think he'll be better than Hojlund. It will be another summer transfer window for us to be competing properly with the top 4 clubs I think, but this summer was massive when looking at our attacking line up vs prior year. Carrington is updated, the stadium next big project.
We're definitely heading in the right way, and whatever anyone thinks of Ineos etc, they seem to have more of a gameplan in mind than we have had for the last decade or so.
I think as long as we're making big strides over the next year then we don't need to worry about anyone wanting to leave.

He's a great talent. Id say this is the one big advantage of this 3 at the back formation - you're more willing to throw someone who's learning in that role, with the safety net of another 2 CBS with him. He's getting valuable minutes under his belt, and he's going to keep getting better for it.

In the case of Beckham he wanted to stay but SAF sold him. As for Evra you said tried to but ultimately unsuccessful. The one you are forgetting is Ruud, again SAF was happy to sell the dynamic of the team was changing.

jeez, such a hyperbole in this thread. We can be excited about Leny yes, but he's got long way to go. First of all, he should start with defending in the box, I'd say he's average at best. The only player I'd trust there is Maguire or de Light. He needs to have a stronger presence. Bulk up without loosing agility and up the aggression.
His aerial game is also average at best. In the rest of the game he's solid and developing well for a front foot defender. He's got good mentality and will go far but he's far from WC now, let's stop this crap.

Sure feel free, its a football forum, youre entitled to your opinion. But he showed his weaknesses throughout the preseason and his first season here, finishing very strong (particularly in possession).
He had a good game against Arsenal, when we played well as a unit. The season will tell how much of an acomplished player he is, but he will inevitably make mistakes. but obviously if your benchmark is someone as attrocious as Lindelof then he's a WC player already. Same with Heaven, people go too much over board.
I still shudder when I remember that I wanted Todibo over him. Might have to admit I was wrong about that one.

My opinion, for a 19 year old he’s incredibly accomplished and like any 19 year old he will get better with time and experience. If he got no better he’d be good enough to play for any top club.

Not saying much because it was a pretty lacklustre performance but he was my MOTM. Very happy he's a United player and I've not said that much in recent times.
