Leon Bailey | Redcafe says no

Considering he only seems to do well when he plays against us, then at least it gives us more of a chance of picking up points against Villa.

I was very impressed with him…when he was at Leverkusen. I don’t think he’s done much of note since coming over to the PL.

No thanks, he is a 1 in 10 kind of player.

He's also the type of personality we can do without.

No thank you. He’s literally a carbon copy of Rashford. No end product and very inconsistent.

Makes sense since hes at best a midtable player and guess where we stand at the moment

Out of Tel, Bailey and Nkunku... Only Nkunku makes sense. The other 2 don't fit our needs at all at the moment. Nkunku I was a big no for when it comes to swapping for Garnacho, but to replace Rashford yeah by all means go for it. Rashford wasn't playing anyway so an injury prone player to replace isn't a huge problem, only upside from our current situation.

Bailey is a laughably bad fit both quality and position he plays. Tel is a bad fit as he's an inconsistent kid who is a wide forward who has struggled to make a real impact in a weaker league even when he has played, and we don't play with wide forwards while one of our issues is all our attackers are too young.

If it's a loan with a reasonable option to buy why not? Maybe he needs a new role in a different environment and he's got the skill, imo. He should be not expensive, not over 20 mil. Of course Cunha looks much better and but would also be way more expensive.
I'd give it a try, i rather do that then just get one guy in.

Bailey actually has a lot of qualities that would suit the type of right wing back that Amorim likes to use. Very quick, direct and tricky feet. I’m wondering if the interest in him is a stop gap until we get Quenda in the summer?

I agree. He literally would straight up replace what Antony was offering. Both wings. At least till the summer.

I also don't rate him, doesn't move the needle at all. If anything akin to his promise at Leverkusen he has under delivered in the league.

I think as others have correctly mentioned is a problem of consistency.

I wondered about that. He does seem to have a lot of energy and pace for getting up and down the flank.

I wouldn’t put Tel in that category. I think he’s an exciting young player and another one just like Garnacho who’ll get the fans of their seats at OT. We need them sort of players who aren’t afraid to take people on.
Bayern don't let players go lightly. When they do, it's because they're not up to standard or well past their best. That alone would have the alarm bells ringing for me. I can't think of many they've let go in the past 20 years that they'd have regretted in the slightest, but I can think of many clubs that got fleeced buying one of their outcasts.

I don't rate Sane at all, I think he's one of the most wasteful players in World football. The fact they prefer him (or even Gnabry) over Tel would worry me hugely.

Bayern only bought him a few years ago, you'd think they'd want to hang onto him if he'd shown them anything of note. He's not looked great even in the BL, so I think the PL would well above his ability level.

They'd not dream of selling Musiala and rightly so. That's the level of player United should be aiming for though. They're a bigger club than Bayern.

Always be wary when Bayern are happy to let a player go. That'd be my mantra if I were on any transfer commitee. Same with Man City and Real Madrid. They all know when to put a player out to pasture, yet a lot of buying clubs still think they're getting a good deal.

This.

Even as a loan, it's just plain embarrasing how far we've fallen if this goes through.
We've loaned worse players than Baily over the past few years. Don't know why this would be the one deal to emphasise how far we've fallen

Ye but I genuinely think with Tel it’s a case of a promising player not being able to get enough game time because there stacked with world class players.

It’ll be this guy probably. I can’t see Chelsea being friendly enough to give us Nkunku on a loan without an obligation

I just associate him with that video of the guy having a go at him for acting like a dickhead in the gym  Does anyone else remember that? I can't even find it anymore.

Maybe I imagined it.
