Why would he leave Bayern for us?

Do Bayern want to get rid of him?

No way thats happening, he just recently hinted that he is going to extend his contract at Bayern.

One of the absolut top box to box midfielder in the world.

I know nothing about him and am sure it is contract talks but with the Camavinga talk would him and Goretzka to replace PP put us in a better or worse position? (Appreciate its guesswork)

He's the type of player, in an FM/FIFA world, McTominay should become. I don't think he ever will, but it's the same sort of natural strengths to his game.

Trading Pogba for Goretzka and Camavinga would put us in a better position. Goretzka is a really good box-to-box midfielder.

It’s a pipe dream, but if Pogba were to leave he would be near the top of my list to replace him

What's a bit mad really is that Scott is only 2 years younger than him.

Laughed when I saw this thread. Not a chance in hell we sign a prime German player. We are only being used as contract negotiations are under way.

Why would Bayern sell? Is it because he's injury prone? I remember a certain midfielder being really good but always injured. Might be mixing him with Tolisso

I really like him but is he not a completely different type of midfielder to Pogba?
Surely that's exactly what we'd want if Pogba left? I mean we're struggling to fit Pogba into our midfield in a balanced way, so we'd want anyone we replace him with to be different enough to actually fit.

There's still rumours Saul Niguez could be going to Bayern. Maybe he wants a new challenge?

However him using us for a new deal with Bayern definitely feels like the most likely scenario.

I think we need a completely different player than Pogba.
If Bruno is playing in the attacking role and Rashford on the left, and Pogba doesn't want to be a CM or DM, but sort of left side of the mid a bit ahead of the mid - thing, i think we'll get a much better balance to the midfield and the team, if we get a different type of player.
I'm not totally Pogba out, but think he's a luxury player that's a bit hard to fit in and get the best of him.

So we've now signed Varane from Real Madrid, Goretzka from Bayern and Sancho from Dortmund. We're on fire.

It would be the point though wouldn't it? Pogba is very talented, but i believe we need a more defensive midfielder for balance. I'm sure it would get even more out of Bruno

By all accounts, his agent is pushing for a deal that would see them break their pay structure to retain Goretzka. More chance Franz Beckenbaur being in our line up come close of the transfer window. Wonderful player and no doubt we would be in the mix if he was seriously going to leave.

Interesting.

I'm sure he'll get the new contract he's after. Coman too, probably.

Bayern's squad size is very small, I don't think they can afford to let players like this leave.

But this guy is not defensive midfielder as what you think we need. He’s box to box. Pretty much McTominay but better passer. He suits Ole’s double pivot just like McFred since he has incredible work rate, stamina and can play in double pivot.

To be honest mate, I know what you mean.

I love what Pogba can do, but he just doesn't do it enough. I don't buy the whole 'he'd be the best player in the world at an effectively run club excuse' some journos trot out, either.

I feel that a player like Pogba might win a top international side the world cup over the course of 7/8 games. Goretzka, or a player in his mould, will win your club the league and give a good shout at the ECL over 50/60 games. It won't be as silky, but it'll make a much more effective midfield.

Goretzka isn't coming here though, this is just part of getting a new contract at Bayern.
