They're clearly on the right track and have improved from last year, their starters are second best in Italy. They just had loads of injuries and don't have the depth.

Hakimi is a great buy and they won't have to play Young or Candreva for a lot of minutes next season. If they get Tonali and a good left wingback I expect them to once again take another step forward. Sensi and Barella being fit for at least half of the season would already be a big improvement.

Conte is a top manager, it's just going to take time to take them to where he wants them to be at.

I can't see how can any Inter fan not look at this current season as a positive one or not being on the right track. If they finish 3rd it'll be a great first season for Conte imo. Of course expectations next season from them will be higher.
They aren't finishing 3rd, Atalanta are on nothing short of a rampage with Illicic yet to start firing from all cylinders. However there has been progress by them. They kept pace with Juve for half the season. They've got the right guys in charge who'll probably make the right deals for them to compete.

They have improved and their current transfer targets make a lot of sense. The have Hakimi, their targeting Emerson at lwb to bench the likes of young, candreva and Moses. Then in the middle they are targeting Tonali and already have Erikson (their hoping he comes out of his slump) brozovic, Barella and Tonali are good options for the middle. Lukaku will score goals for them. The might keep lautaro if he leaves Cavani could be an option for them. Whether that's good enough to unseat Juve it's a whole new story but it should at at least cement them in the top 4.

If I was an Inter fan I would be happy with where the club is headed. I believe this will be back to back ucl qualifications for the 1st time in a while and their on the way to beating last seasons point haul. That's progress. Also they got rid of Icardi and his wife, Lukaku is the lesser evil for them.

What's with all the Torino players running away?

Yeah wtf was that?

Reminds me of when England played Azerbaijan. Every time England had a corner, the Azerbaijan players would run away which brought mass confusion for the attackers who constantly missed free openings from the corners

Ended up finishing the league second with 82 and only one point behind Juve.

As I said, don't know how can anyone not look at this and think they're not on the right track under Conte.

I think they are on the right track but this is the worst Juventus side in what? A decade?

Probably should have challenged them more really.

It's for sure regarding juve.

Inter put on a good challenge at the start of the season. Unfortunately they seemed to have imploded as it went on. Finishing second overall is very good for them though, regardless of point gab with Juve which is the icing on the cake.

Have a feeling we'll play them in a few weeks

Should have won it this season really. Failed in the games vs Juventus mainly. Our old boys are doing well for them. Conte is great at getting a lot out of players.
Although they lack a super star in attack like a Hazard from his Chelsea time to really damage teams. Sanchez used to be able to do that, but he is not at that level anymore.

Hopefully they win Serie A next year. Potentially tough Europa League opponent.

Was browsing their English forum and they seem to really like Young there.

Conte would make them look good for sure. Not sure he could save Jones injury record, but he would be able to get him to perform at peak level I think. Just like Cahill and Luiz performed for him at Chelsea.
Lingard is harder to have faith in since he has barely scored for 1.5 year. Although Conte could work his magic.

Not surprised that Conte has them doing well. He's basically the modern day Mourinho. They brought in a lot of new players this summer as well didn't they? I can see them potentially winning it next season with some more time to develop consistency among them and Conte to improve them even more.

Only ended a point behind Juve. Obviously Juve most likely would have beaten Roma if they had to yesterday, but this really was Inter’s chance, especially after the start they had.

Juve are deteriorating though, so maybe next year.

I think Young is better than the Emerson guy in Chelsea, they should go for someone better.
I sought of like Inter, always had a soft spot for them and Conte appears like a winner to me. I would really like them and Milan to get back to the top once more.

It's time us and Milan rise up from our slumber, it's far too long with this mediocrity.

Losing to Comeback Winning!
Lets not

:wenger: Great seeing our ex 3 players are doing well there.

Inter, you can take more of our players, here are our best recommendations.

1. Alexissss Sanchezz. You've seen what he can do in your shirt. Simply make it permanent.

2. Jesseee Lingard. This is a player given nickname "Messe Lingod", big game raisers and Cup final goal specialists. He also scored the goal that bring United back to the Champions League!

3. Philip Anthonyyy Jones. SAF once hailed him as Duncan Edwards successor, the wonder kid of the Busby babes, hailed widely as one of the most promising youngsters before. Jones will sacrifice his body to defend for you.

Haha I saw clips of Conte praising players and staff for the seasono whilst bitching about the management and saying they received no protection from the club whatsoever. Never change Antonio, never change!

Serie A domination is coming. It's like when they had Ronaldo and Vieri as strikers.

eehmm..

I was thinking more of Inter dominating Serie A.

But yes. Napoli is definitely better than Liverpool
aah my bad. Lukaku and Young domination I guess.
Juventus can knock City out already this season to show the Serie A quality.

We've learnt over these years, to never underestimate Serie A teams. The League may seem weak, but somehow their teams are always doing pretty well in CL. Their League are full of teams with excellent tactical acumen.

This year is the first time after almost 10 years that we have 3 italian teams in round of 16 - Atalanta, Juve, Napoli.
Last time this happened was in season 2011/12 - AC Milan, Inter and Napoli.
Juve are the only consistent team that regularly qualifies for the quarters so i don't know where u got this Italian teams doing well in UCL...

Good for them. Ashley is a likeable character when he isn't rushing to get back into a defensive position.
Happy for him. Doing well in his likely final swansong, picking up a runners-up medal in the process.
