I'd love it if we gave him a chance. He's getting glowing reviews in Austria.Liked what I saw of Vitek before. Suspect he would do well if we brought him back.

Yes it was all his faultI wanted Costa instead of Onana and would like to sign him but there's no way we are signing a new GK this summer when we need so many other players.
And to the people suggesting Ramsdale... Someone who has been relegated 3 times is not the level we should be aiming for.
Yes it was all his fault![]()
Other players? Two main areas in football. Scoring goals and conceding them. Sort both out this summer and we're in business. Keeper, striker and number 10. Yeah, we could do with another centre back/centre mid, but I'd be addressing keeper and attack first.there's no way we are signing a new GK this summer when we need so many other players.
GK
Maz-DeLigt-Yoro
Amad-Bruno/Mainoo-Ugarte-Dorgu/Amass(?)
RAM-LAM

That's the spots we need new players imo. Maybe even a new LWB, but down the line. Maybe Mount can make that RAM spot his next season if he stays healthy. Might have to replace Ugarte as well, but like LWB, down the line. Focus on these spots first.
Totally. I really don't see any quality GK there. I hoep it's just lazy journalism (since we've had genuine interest when he was playing in Belgium), but paying 40m for him would be just Onana 2.0.Suzuki makes Onana look dependable. I watch quite a lot of Serie A and every time I see him he is doing something stupid. Signing him would be like doubling down on the Onana disaster.
Brief on Vitek. Can't do anything with the two goals, but two great saves at 0.16 with a huge stretch to hit the post (Onana) would never get his arms near this and top save at 1.05. His defenders are pretty shocking with especially the 2nd goal. Hearing good things about him and may get Golden Glove award.Vitek is doing much better than Kovar and is ours.
Leverkusen want to get rid of Kovar, we'd probably pay less then what we sold him for as he flopped there.
So for which GK should we go from this list (realisically)?

I like Bulka, and he's in his last year next year I think?Joan García. He is a top keeper. The best spanish GK, better than Raya. And 23 years old. He should be your first choice. His price is 25m euros (he has a clause in his contract).
If you want a giant keeper: Bulka. 200 cm, homegrown (ex Chelsea) and he plays for Ratcliffe's other club (Nizza).
he's very errorprone. Onana 2.0Suzuki seems like an obvious candidate as we tried to get him from Japan. Seems to be doing well in Italy, but the price seems a bit ridiculous.
I think we are stuck with Onana as there won't be a market for him (transfer fee and wages). So the club will try to find a younger solid actual successor to de gea and gradually phase out Onana or allow him to leave for a cheaper fee as his contract runs down.Zion Suzuki

These are the goalkeepers we’ve apparently shown interest in - and while there’s no clear frontrunner, the theme is obvious: all young, all full of potential, and none with much top-level experience.
It’s definitely a bit of a gamble. In a team that’s still shaky both defensively and going forward, going for an experienced, reliable keeper would probably make more sense. Someone who can organise the backline, stay calm under pressure, and bring some stability.
What makes it more frustrating is that our current keeper is 29, has played at the highest level, and has all the tools you'd expect. But for whatever reason, it’s just not clicking.
Wasn't we linked with him about the same time we went in for Bayindir ?Talksport linking us with a bid for Parma keeper Zion Suzuki (22). Anyone seen him play for Parma?

Yeah that definitely helped us in 2005I think we need to go the other way and sign an older head with a bit of experience. We need another Edwin Van Der sar circa 2005 to settle us down.
I get Ineos like sell on value but a young keeper in this team right now is a recipe for disaster.
2m quid as well! We lost the ability to find bargains like that years ago. People who say we can’t find these players because we’re man United forget we used to do it all the time.Yeah that definitely helped us in 2005
Very good value for a solid keeper. I've only watched highlights really and he looks decent, though doesn't stand out as world class in any particular sense. Stats look great though.I'm reading that Milinkovic-Savic has a £17m release clause. If that's true it's a no brainer.
Surely a massive upgrade on OnanaVery good value for a solid keeper. I've only watched highlights really and he looks decent, though doesn't stand out as world class in any particular sense. Stats look great though.
If the budgets tight £17m would seem smart business.
He's 22 in his first season in Europe from Japan, I think that's probably to be expected. I don't think we should be going near him at the quoted price.he's very errorprone. Onana 2.0
Best option I have seen but no concrete links to him.Svilar is some keeper
Seems so long ago that he was the keeper that dropped it in his net against us, playing for Benfica. Think he was only 18 then.Svilar is some keeper
