Lewis Hall

Would be my first choice fullback signing. Think he’s absolutely class!

Yeah, he'd be a perfect signing no doubts about it. We really do need to have some English/British core. But, just don't see it happening.
Malick Diouf is a good alternative though, and a lot more gettable.

I'm a fan of his.

Think he'd be a shrewd signing if the opportunity arose.

Think he's a boyhood newcaslte fan? Don't see it at all.

The only Newcastle player I'd be interested in, but he'd cost too much.

Also I'm a big believer in Dorgu so it's not worth signing someone stupidly expensive in that position.

Not sure how much rotation there'd be, Shaw wouldn't get a sniff if Hall was here. He'd cost a bomb though, they paid £35m for him including add-ons when he'd only made 12 senior appearances.

Should be our long term LB. He’s a quality player.

Dorgu may have a future at LW if Carrick stays.

In some games maybe.

But he's the prototypical high energy/work-rate attacking fullbacks elite teams look for.

I'd argue its what we're missing now in the frustrating performances we've had recently - another player to overload the attack from fullback.

Newcastle fans hatred of us never made much sense to me, but in recent years I've come to understand it.

Brushed them aside like they weren't there in their first cup final for decades, nicked all their transfer targets last summer, now we're linked with half their squad.

Number one target but just can’t see it happening.

What would be your max price?

Do we think Newcastle are blowing up financially this summer or something?
Doesn't seem likely that we'll be cherry picking their best players does it?

Don't know anything about him.

What type of left back is he?
Strengths or weakness etc

I live here. One of the most deluded hypocritical fan bases.
It all stems from KK losing his shit

Think they’re a big club when reality is they’re one of the very few prem teams that don’t share the city with another club

Who was the last ex-Chelsea player you signed that turned out well?
It depends if you mean long term success. But that would be a small number of players for a lot of teams.

Lukaku and Matic had cracking first seasons.
And hopefully going to another team in between and being earlier in their career helps. Though I don't see us buying players off Newcastle to be honest.

It looks like Newcastle are going to lose Tonali and maybe Bruno G as well, there’s no chance of Hall leaving this summer, which is a shame as he is developing into a really good player.

I also live up here and yeah, they've despised us since 96. They absolutely hate us like we have a proper rivalry

Last one cos off topic
Asked the other day why the hate
“It’s because of the players and manager”
I just said it’s not even the same ones, Ferguson left ages ago, along with cantona and Keane
They’re a strange bunch

No chance Newcastle sell him this summer, however much like Anderson easily the top target

Yeah not investing too many stocks into this thread, feels like a bit of a non-starter, at least this summer
