Yeah, I think he's been quite highly rated for a few years now.
It’s in his nature to be a whining, diving little cnut. It’s the main reason opposition fans hate him.
I agree he’s a good player, a very good player on his day, and also heard a while back he wants Barca. He’d improve us for sure, but he’d be thoroughly unlikeable.
He's very good, think he struggled when he first joined Chelsea but he's been impressive for both club and country the past two years I'd say.

Hall is exactly the right profile of player we should be looking at. If Amass or anyone else gets in ahead of him in a couple of years - great. Nothing wrong g with competition, it’s what we haven’t had across the squad for far too long.

I had pretty much the exact same reaction to you maybe a year ago when I first saw him being linked to Barca. He was very much a joke for a while.
I remember we were looking to loan Cucurella and balked at the loan fee as well as I seem to remember Chelsea cup tied him. We ended up with reguillon. Doh!

I'd expect there would be a difference in the wage which would make Hall the better buy, even more so given his age even if it's a 20m higher transfer fee upfront

Indeed. Definitely seems like LB is a specific area we are looking at, but between a perhaps lower punt amount for Cucurella or big money on Hall. I wouldn't be disappointed with either!
I can't see there being much difference in values. The reporting that Cucurella is available for €40m-€50m (or £35m-£43m) seems low. I don't get why Chelsea sell one of the highest rated LB's in world, who is still only 27 to a PL rival for that amount. This goes double as they paid £55m plus add ons for him. Imo, no one gets him for less than what Chelsea paid. At that point he is just £5m-£10m cheaper than Hall but will likely demand higher wages.
Quite like Lewis Hall, seems like a very good replacement for Shaw and helps with the homegrown quota too. Newcastle will defo play hardball though, that's the main concern.
It’s clear Hall is our top target as all the respected United journo's are saying the same thing and all saying £50-£60 million, if we got the same longevity out of Hall as we technically have with Shaw then it’s money well spent.
If they sell Tonali, with the ridiculous fee they got for Gordon, they won't need to sell anyone they'd prefer to keep. Be better United go in for him now and test the waters. Then would still need Hall to push for the move.
To be honest, I think that was illustrative of fans' tendencies to make overly-rash judgments more than anything else.

50 - 60 mil is the highest we should go, there are plenty of promising LB outside of EPL at better prices and we have Dorgu as LW and LB backup. I think we can afford to take an educated slight risk in this department.
Yeah that should be our cutoff price, maybe we need to press ahead on this as maybe it takes Tonali off the table for Arsenal or dare I say City

Would be a fantastic signing. Agree we shouldn't go much above £50m, but adjusted for inflation, that's surely about the price we paid for Shaw a decade ago.
