Very possible whilst Tonali is still there, mind you IF I had realised Barca would sign Gordon so quick then would have prioritised it after Ederson. My biggest concern with this is those geordies pulling down shutters on selling players.
I would hope that they could progress both deals at once. I would assume we have a budget at least as large as last summer and we have already banked the fee for Rasmus and shaved a huge amount off the wage bill with potentially more sales to come. With Ederson being so cheap we can afford Hall and Fernandes and still have money for another deal or two even without raising much more in outgoings and so I would hate to think we would use the Fernandes negotiations as an excuse not to push through a deal for Hall if he is genuinely available.

Yes, considering the amounts saved from wages (Casemiro, Sancho, Malacia), the extra from CL football and finishing 3rd in the PL, United should be able to do that without any issue financially. The list of potential outgoings and what they can potentially bring to the war chest is quite lengthy too...
Hojlund (sold), Onana, Bayindir, Vítek, Ugarte, Collyer, Rashford, Zirkzee...plus a nice wedge from the reported Greenwood to Roma deal should that go through.

I’d go for Hall if remotely possible but if not then then I’d happily take Robinson from Fulham, he’s been playing well for a few years now.

Don't get me wrong, Howe's a prick so he could have just deliberately scuppered the lad's chances but it's not like he's some dreadful manager so it feels unlikely. I have to wonder why Howe (where who what?) did this. Perhaps Hall isn't that good or wasn't trying hard enough.

Full backs are one of the hardest position to fill as they participate in both phases and with the inverted wide forwards era are the main source of width in attack.
If Tuchel was truly sold on Hall, then regardless of how many games he'd played towards the end of last season, he'd have gone to the World Cup.
We've already seen that Tuchel will back players he trusts. Stones has been included despite barely playing, while Maguire played regularly and was arguably one of the best centre-backs in the league, yet still missed out. That tells you managers have their preferences, whether people agree with them or not.
For whatever reason, Tuchel preferred O'Rielly and Spence to Hall, and that's hardly the shock of the century. Both are more physically imposing and athletic than Hall, and with the tournament being played in such demanding conditions, you'd imagine that was a factor in Tuchel's thinking as well.

Spence is dreadful.
Yeah I assume Hall was playing poorly and then reacted worse so Howe wasn't about to put him straight back in.
Spence has actually performed well whenever he's played for England, so I don't really see the issue there. More importantly, I'm not Tuchel. He had the final say on the squad and decided to take Spence over Hall. It is what it is.
It is what it is, doesn't change the fact that Spence is not a very good player.
