After assessing, I actually think we're in much better shape than fans think we are.
a. I don't think we will sign that third midfielder, as I think Mount's new role will act as that.
b. I think Tielmans can play as a deeper partner when required
c. Andrey Santos will start, the battle is for his partner ( Mainoo or Tielmans, with Mount as their back up)
d. Mbuemo and Cunha can deputy for Sesko
e. If Rashford stays, and with Lacey coming into the squad, I'm not sure a forward is NEEDED. I'd want it, but we can afford for this to be a younger player and not too expensive.
What i would like more than anything though is a left back. I think on the right, that role is going to be more defensive with an inverted full back who can act as a third centre back. This means our left back, especially with Cunha coming inside at times, needing to go back and forth. Shaw may have been injury free last season as an LCB for the majority of the season, but at left back, we would prefer to have a younger, fitter, more athletic and more attacking left back. This is where Hall comes in. Even if its not Hall, I do think we would do well in having that. We can do really well with the squad we have already, but I think this will do far more for us, particularly in tight games, than fans think.
